So I am starting December 7 with the Full Sail Online Internet Marketing Bachelors Degree Program and from what I understand as of now I cannot do anything for monetary gain under my name online, while enrolled in the school.
Does anyone know if that means pen names as well??
Or should I just work on building a list and everything else then push once I'm graduated???
Also, and this has nothing to do with the post, but, can I make a signature file on wordpress so that I don't have to enter in everything at the end of my posts??

CJ, you may want to read this post (http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/members/showthread.php?t=2574) about the school you are enrolling in. Please be cautious before going to far and giving up all you have worked on so far. I cannot believe you can't do anything for monetary gain while attending. That is crazy!

Red flags are waving.
Sirens are sounding.
I don't know anything about this program, but I'm concerned by this.

It is legit...Its one of the best schools in Florida, I have been looking into this school for almost 12 years, Originally I was looking into the recording engineer degree but kinda fell off for a while but seen they added the internet marketing degree and talked to a few people online who have graduated with the I.M. degree and they say its worth it but honestly with the exception of a Warriors Special Offer on the Warriors Forum I haven't made anything online yet so its not that big of a deal just didn't want to come across something that could make me some money and not know if I can do it or not...
You can google it and see the reviews...

If you want to learn how to build a business on the Internet Lynn will teach you for the sum of $27 a month!
If you want to sit around listening to lectures go ahead and spend thousands of dollars - it's your money.
I was a college lecturer for 28 years - teaching Information Technology and Physics and in my opinion being in a mastermind group such as Lynn's Elite Forum will help you much more than a College will.
Frankly if the guys teaching in the college know what they are talking about they would be doing it and earning thousands a day rather than teaching it and earning a few thousand a month.
I have a wall full of qualifications and the truth is that a few minutes contact with a Super Affiliate is worth more than years of blah blah blah
Regarding your question"I cannot do anything for monetary gain under my name online, while enrolled in the school."
Clearly you should be asking the staff this question, it sounds silly to me.
:-)
good luck!

Alex, it's too late. He's already made up his mind. He's tuned everyone out who doesn't agree with his decision. Unfortunately, he's going to have to learn his lessons the hard way.
Well, at least we tried to warn him.

Hopefully David, CJ can get an intellectual back up there and then get going after that.
My first course in I.M. was run by a well known scammer, I left after a few months, then I bounced back after a few more months and joined SBI...UGH!! not a scam in itself but useless.
A year had gone by!
Then I tried to work things out myself for a while...getting no where fast.
Then I did Patric Chan's home study course. That was genuine and good quality...
That was a few years ago and it is easier to learn now in some ways, but everyone has to go through their own experience, their own learning curve .
Some lucky souls get to contact a Perry Marshall or Lynn Terry right at the beginning and have a much easier time!!
hehe!
:-)
I'd have liked an easier time at the beginning but I'm happy where I am now.
And my future looks great!!
:-)

Interesting that the credits are not transferable to any other college or university from "one of the best schools in Florida." I think David DID google it and SAW the reviews, which is where his warning came from. . .

Absolutely nothing! Sadly, that's the biggest scam of all.

Hey there CJ. Looks like a lot of people here are giving you a really hard time about FullSail University. Don't worry too much about what is being said here ok? Two of my closest friends on the planet went to FullSail and graduated, in fact, I've actually been there on the campus before, it was in 1994, so I don't know how much they have grown since then but I CAN say that even way back then it was $30,000!
I can also say that it WILL be extremely time consuming and mentally demanding! So I hope your friends, family and the lil special lady is ready and willing to support you. I know I will.
On one hand, I'd love the be part of the "In Crowd" and tell you how badly you're going to be wasting your money, but the truth is, for starters, it's your G.I. Bill, right? On behalf of me and everyone else here, I would like to say "Thank You!" for your service and for doing your part to preserve our right to freely speak our minds! (sorry, that could have been misconstrued as mean. I apologize to everybody in the crowd!).
Anyway. My friend Tim became the operations manager of the largest and most advanced recording studio around Nashville at that time called "The Sound Kitchen" after he graduated from FullSail. In all fairness, he did not get such an esteemed position strait out of school, he actually had to work hard and earn it but guess what? He Stayed Boosted! He did it in the face of all those that said that he was stupid (I believe Bill Gates was told that too btw, so don't sweat it! Cool?). In fact, I've been to "The Sound Kitchen" several times myself, not only to visit Tim, but I also had a live recording gig to do here in my home town and guess who helped me do the live recording and mixing and mastering? Yup! My friend Tim.
Since Tim was already (luckily for me) a very dear friend of mine, he was able to pull some strings and actually brought with him over $200,000 worth of mobile equipment to do the recording, and then we Mixed and Mastered it at The Sound Kitchen on a Sunday using literally (no exaggerating) 1 to 2 million dollars worth of equipment. That was Awesome!
My other friend, Bill, was in charge of much of the cameras and sound engineering for the Atlanta Olympics, then worked for Roland US, traveled the world as a pretty darn 'big wig", and now owns his own digital audio and video services business in LA. Is he rich? No, but he owns his own house that has an in-ground pool, and kids, a couple cats and I'd say that's pretty good.
Sorry I'm taking so long but, it's like... have you ever walked into a room or situation where the people were having a debate about "xyz" and they couldn't come to a logical conclusion "together", when you noticed that, what they are talking about is something that you just happen to have practical, intimate, and real life experience in so you just jumped in to help?
When I saw all these people giving you a really hard time over something that they even admit they had little or no knowledge about, and I just happen to have very, very personal real life knowledge and real life experience with FullSail, I could not just stand idle and allow it to continue uncontested.
Now to be fair... If I had $50k in my hand would "I" spend it on FullSail University? Probably not, I would likely pay Lynn Terry (I'd have to talk her into it somehow) a heaping big amount of money for some personal "Real Life" IM instruction. But then again, YOU (CJ) don't have $50k in hand either, what you DO have is a G.I. Bill, right? So really, we are talking about limited places to spend college money on what "you want", and personal preferences.
Anyway CJ, most of what I said here is "Factual" and NOT "Googled". If you want, I can even show you pictures, introduce you to Tim and Bill and even let you talk to them on the phone! I can even introduce you to the local guy who hired me (I then got Tims help) for the live recording and then he also went to The Sound Kitchen with us to witness the Mixing and Mastering just coz he'd never been in such an awesome studio before. Yes, it was major lots-o-buckets of fun! :)
So I hope this helps to encourage you! Just because people haven't heard of "xyz" before doesn't mean they're not good at what they do, right? After-all, when I first heard the term "StomperNet" as being a company, my first reaction was something like... "pfft! How corny is that? Poor suckers!" But now I am a RABID FAN of "The Net Effect" that StomperNet puts out! (but I hate their customer support, that's for another day).
See how thoughts can change when what has changed is what you see? (hey, that was pretty fun to say....bet I'll never be able to repeat that again unless I Copy-n-Paste it!) LOL!
Closing:
Does all this I've said prove that you're going to do great and make tons of money and happy babies in your life? Of course not! But what I CAN "Prove" is what I wrote above. All the stuff I said above is from Real Life. Not from a google result. Nothing more, nothing less.
You could possibly fail miserably, if so I will be here to help you pick yourself back up! My bet is, because I know you and how strong you are, that you'll do great and make plenty of money and lots of happy babies. If so, I'll be here to help you spend it all - YAY!! Oh yeah, and tell you "Great Job!" (ok, and maybe help you change a diaper or two. I love kids).
Whew boy I'm tired now! :p
Ok, now I'm getting all fuzzy and warm. Sudden Stop!! bye...
Gary.

CJ. Looks like a lot of people here are giving you a really hard time about FullSail University.
No one here is giving CJ a hard time. The members here are trying to look out for his best interests. But if you're bound and determined to point your finger at someone (and it appears you are), then point it at me.
I'm the one who rung the alarm bells about Full Sail, and I don't regret doing it. There are lots of former students calling Full Sail a scam. All I did was bring that to CJ's attention.
But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter about my warning, because CJ has already made up his mind.

Why would someone plunk down so much for a course when they can get better and more current info from others for much less? Let's face this: most schools are lagging behind reality by years. And the internet only makes it worse 'cos things change so swiftly, depending on Google, Microsoft's, etc.'s whim and also depending sometimes on political-social and many other issues and developments.
With that said, I'm wondering how a school will manage to keep up-to-date with internet trends.

CJ,
I saw your post on the WF and came here to repeat part of my response.
I will repeat the part about Full Sail being a proprietary school, meaning they're in it for the money.
I will also repeat that having been around the industry for many years before the feds shut down almost all of them for financial aid fraud, I never met a proprietary school operator that had the ethics of a used car salesman. They should be so lucky as to reach that height from where they are.
Full sail does have some programs that will help get you a kickstart, the audio field being one, but internet marketing ain't. You would be better off to attend a school that taught Direct Response Marketing. One such program is the Direct Marketing Association Certified Professional Program (http://dmaeducation.org/) They even have programs in internet marketing, and as the trade association for the direct marketing industry, they can help you more than Full Sail can even begin to think about.
I would also suggest you see if you can get in email contact with Denny Hatch, the former editor of Target Marketing magazine and seek his advice. Denny is retired, but he knows anyone and everyone who can lead you down the path to success. I wish I could get his ear more than the little I've had it. He is a legend and a genius.
I think New York University even offers a degree (from an accredted college) in that field.
Take care, and good luck ...
Kirk
