I've been working on updating my sites even further to be in compliance with the new FTC rules and this morning I created an "Affiliate Status Disclosure" graphic to use on my affiliate sites that will link back to my policies and disclosure page.

I'm not a lawyer, but have seen this wording popping up here and there and also noticed it at Mike Young's site (http://mikeyounglaw.com) this morning (where I got the idea to create this graphic).

EDITED TO ADD: Just discovered that he also provides a banner graphic with this package that's offered at the end of his free report here:

Wanted to add that Mike has free sample language for Affiliate Emails here (http://mikeyounglaw.com/wp/2009/10/23/affiliate-email-disclosure-language/).

He sells his disclaimers. I was thinking of buying the package.

Do we have his permission to use his wording? I thought that was how he made a living. :)

Let us know. Mike's a great guy, but he's also very into copyright law, so... thought I'd ask.

are there other places where one can look for disclaimers for AM sites? Didn't somebody say that Rosalind Gardner had one someplace?

Hi Nicole,

I've emailed Mike to double check, although the wording isn't word for word I want to make sure. I did add a link to my original post of free sample language that he's letting affiliate marketer's use.

It would be so nice if the FTC would just set standard copy that we all should use without having to second guess everything. :(

Absolutely agree! :)

Thanks for checking. It would be really nice if Mike would give us a clue as to what we should use.

A standard would definitely be nice. I haven't made any changes to any of my sites yet for this ... I've kind of been avoiding it.
