Did you have a particular one you've fallen in love with? I like Atahualpa. Pages and pages of stuff to change and rearrange. I just wish they'd named it something else. I have to look it up everytime I talk about it. :)

I was testing out a bunch of free themes on my blog test subsite the other day and found the theme with the most options I've ever seen on a WP theme. It's called Ikarus (http://www.wpthemespress.com/ikarus-the-greatest-premium-wordpress-theme-ever-created-magazine-blog-list-with-10-color-variations-and-over-2000-options/). I find it's dark background scheme and basic structure limit it to certain applications, but it's worth it to install this one just to see all the adjustments on the control page.

I like themes that don't look like blogs and another one I like with plenty of flexibility is Magazine Basic (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/magazine-basic).

At some point in my WP journey, I decided to buy a few themes as I wasn't happy with the free ones. I've used StudioPress -- they have a team of people giving amazing support and Thesis, which is a bare bones theme (also with support--and has two amazing Control Panels). I guess I was under the assumption that if you really had to pay to get something with all the bells and whistles, so it's good to hear about these others. Both of the themes I mentioned have affiliate programs too.

I like atahualpa too but I think it only comes in a 3 column with left and right sidebars.

Grr!

I need to find one theme and learn to do everything I need with it because it is a huge waste of time to rummage around looking for a theme to suit a new blog.

Time after time I come back to Cutline and just change the header jpg.

I do habitually check out themes (here's my secret theme test subdomain (http://themes.wordpressbusinessreview.com/) with mini reviews). I just stumbled upon one I think will work for lots of IM purposes. It's called INove (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/inove). It looked great the first time I loaded it. Features I like: 3 areas in the widgeted right sidebar-- both full width and double width, an easy HTML/text box right above the entry area and a "showcase" HTML/text space with a title at the top of the sidebar. At the designer's website he says you can easily replace the black header with an image and resize it in CSS. He's got several other color schemes, too.

Thank you Wade. I'm looking for a simple theme I can use for a variety of purposes so i'll check this one out

Thanks Sheryl but what I'd like is to have both sidebars on the right!!

it's a gorgeous theme and it's surprising that with so much buildt in flexibility I can't choose the sidebars I want.

I keep going back to cutline, darn it!

I just took the plunge and paid $197 for Remix. (wpremix.com)

I was SO excited, since it has so many built-in layouts!

Then, I had my VA move my site over and she hired a programmer to help her- and it was basically impossible. So, now I'm paying a designer to move everything over manually. It's a good theme, but only if you are building with it from scratch, imho thus far!

My main site should go live with remix and Dunkin Donuts colors next week- very excited!

Just checked out Remix. The pricing does seem a little high, but it sure does give you a ton of options for varied page layouts! It actually seems like several theme templates in one. Very cool. Thanks for letting us know about it and please let us see your finished design.
