Interesting post by Danny Sullivan at search engine land. Google has been serving different search results for a while depending on whether you were logged in to your google account or not. Now it won't matter. Read this - http://searchengineland.com/google-now-personalizes-everyones-search-results-31195

I read that earlier today and I think it's totally icky. I hope millions of people disable the darn thing. It feels wrong and yucky to me.

I don't think it's yucky, exactly, but I like being able to make my own choices. Don't filter my results for me, just give me the list and I'll take it from there, TYVM.
I couldn't find a way to turn it off, either. The web history link does not appear on my Google page.

This is going to be interesting to see how IMers will have to organically become a favorite.
Well, first time buyers in any given niche will obviously be targets since they haven't had their SERPS skewed by prior preferences yet.
And there's also the chance that Squidoo, Wetpaint, Hubpages, Wordpres.com etc. will be even more abused by IM'ers if those domains turn out to be preferred personalized SERP destinations

There's some info about all this right here http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=14148 (http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=14148)
They also say that you have to have java enabled for the tracking to occur...
