Which website tool should a newbie use for affiliate marketing? Is it workpress or xsitepro or others?

I think this is really more of a personal preference thing. Wordpress makes content management super easy if you don't want to mess with HTML and coding etc... new features are easy to add using plugins etc..

Perhaps think about what you want your sites to do as far as features etc and that will help you choose how you want to build.

Either one will work fine to create an affiliate site. It's actually easier to use XSitePro (http://www.xsitepro.com/index_r.html?p=sswt&w=home) (or HTML - I use Dreamweaver) to create an affiliate site. That's just my opinion of course. A lot of people use WordPress - and I just recently downloaded AffiliateTheme (http://www.affiliatetheme.net/737.html) by Unique Blog Designs to give it another whirl.

James,
I use XSitePro and integrate affiliate marketing into it. I also have a Wordpress blog off of that same domain. So if you have the XSitePro software, I would go ahead and use it. It has a lot of great tools.

If you have XSitePro, definitely use it first. Learn as much as you can, ask questions at their forum, etc. After all, you paid for it!

Angie's right - XSitePro is MADE for affiliate marketing. Start with what you've got. It's a good thing!!

I have a post on the topic which you'll find here:

What is the best affiliate program? (http://www.clicknewz.com/1502/what-is-the-best-affiliate-program/)

You may find it difficult to get into CJ or any of the larger affiliate networks if you don't have a website, or a certain amount of website traffic, yet. In that case you'll want to start with independent merchants or programs and work your way up to the larger networks.

I ditto all of the comments here. You should (as Dan mentioned) learn everything about XSITEpro because afterall that's what the software is created for. I think what sometimes confuses us is when new stuff comes along and we wonder if what we already have is sufficient. Most of the time, it is. ;)

...and I just recently downloaded AffiliateTheme (http://www.affiliatetheme.net/737.html) by Unique Blog Designs to give it another whirl.

I was overly unimpressed. Actually I thought it was pathetic, but that is just my personality :p

*EDIT* I should mention that it might work for other people, just because it didn't work for me does not mean it will not work for any of you...try it out, let me know what you think :)

I'm about to dig in and give it a full review, so I'll let you know what I think ;)

In the meantime, since you're an Elite Member, check the thread with the ongoing Affiliate Site case study. Mark is using AffiliateTheme there and it's turning out very nice!
