Question about focus for a new blog

I've just started a new blog. Should my focus be on backlinks or content?

Deanna, I think you need to start with some content first, so you have what to link to. Of course, you can start linking as soon as you created your first post ;).

Follow up question. How many posts should I have before I start with the backlinking? So far I have three posts on the blog in question.

Hi Deanna,

I think the main qualification would be the QUALITY of your content; not the QUANTITY of your content.

So, if you've written some good posts, by all means, start linking to it!

I agree with the others, do both. You need both content and backlinks however backlinks will naturally come with quality content as others will link to you.
