The title says it all really! I've tried a couple of themes but can't get them to behave the way I want.

Really I want a smallish header graphic and a simple sales letter and opt-in box

I've tried mucking about with my old fave, cutline, but I'm sure one of you clever guys or gals has a better suggestion

The current state of play is here (http://newbie-on-the-net)

I'm setting it up as an opt-in alongside the blog (http://newbie-on-the-net.com/blog)

My deadline is this weekend. I want to move on to other projects next week

Thanks

Alex

Alex you might try vigilance. It's pretty customizable and might work well for what you're doing. http://thethemefoundry.com/vigilance/

Jackie, Vigilance is really nice looking and clean code according to w3c.org

Alex, if you do not find what you are looking for search landing page and get a free landing page to build it on.

Thanks Jackie but I'm looking for a free theme - there is a free trial here but it looks like it costs $48

Alex, Jackie's theme looks awesome and it is free. I downloaded it already. It just does not have support. It looks like thesis to me. I just got thesis and I have seen some awesome sales letters built with it. I will let you know how it goes. If I find another free one I will post it here. You could try clean copy from the Michael Fotrin or the basic theme from word press kurbic?. It is highly modifiable.
