I am setting up a blog and would like a forum as a side to it and am considering bbpress, since it is created by wordpress and I imagine would be the easiest to intigrate together...does anyone have any experience in this area?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Jennie
I've not setup BBpress myself, but have used other sites that have it installed and it seems to work well. There's also Simple Forum, which I have used and is also nice.

Either would work I believe, and they're simple enough to install, so test it out and see which you prefer.

Thanks Traci, what is Simple forum? Is it also created by the makers of wordpress?

Hi Jennie
Very few plugins are actually made by the makers/creators of WordPress. Most plugins are created by other individuals, designed to be used with WordPress. Simple forum is one. Here's the page to download the Simple forum plugin: http://simplepressforum.com/

Hi Jennie,

I've integrated BBPress and Wordpress for one of my clients. BBPress is sleek.

Anyway, I went through a couple of hickups though. Here are some tips:

- Don't do the integration DURING the installation process. Do it AFTER you've installed BBpress. It's less of a headache.

- During one of the steps, you will need to install a plugin in Wordpress that will give you a code to paste into your Wordpress wp-config file. Paste this code ABOVE all the other codes or the one time login will not work.

Let me know if you need further help with this.
