Hello Everyone!

My name is Cindy and I found this forum from Jackie Lee! I have been following Jackie since before Christmas with her Christmas Cash Blueprint. I have only made 3 Squidoo lenses thus far, but I'm on my 4th now! I hope to get moving on making more and more lenses, but you see I suffer from "Shiny new things" syndrome! That's why I decided to join this forum, in hopes that you all will help me to overcome my addiction to all of the shiny new things!

I also am disabled so that takes up a big portion on my time daily... just getting ready for the day is over a 3 hour procedure daily! Add to that how long it takes me to eat dinner (2 to 2 1/2 hours daily) and there's not much time left for me to get to my IM. (I don't eat lunch because I don't want to spend another 2 hours eating.) So, as you can see, time is not on my side, but I'm determined to make this happen, thus I persevere!

I have been happily married going on 11 years now, but my hubby thinks I'm wasting my time with this IM stuff! I really want to prove him wrong! I did make about $250 over a year ago with Travis Sago's Magic of Making Up, but I had my blog on WP and when they started to enforce their TOS my blog got trashed! Along with it went my income, so I decided to get my own website. http://bestgetmyexbackreviews.com I'm not very techie inclined so I paid someone to design that website for me and I soon found out there were problems with my website, so I just about abandoned it... Oh, I go to it once in awhile and sit there and stare at it and think I can do something with this, but then reality sets in and I know I do not have the technical skills to fix it.

Geez, I'm getting long winded here, so I think I will cut it off now! :)

If you get one thing out of my introduction, I want it to be --- I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THIS IM STUFF HAPPEN FOR ME DESPITE ALL OF MY HANDICAPS!!!

Hi Cindy,
Thanks for sharing your story. I am not disabled but I salute you for not quitting. I HAD been stuck for decades and now FREE. I am looking to make up for lost time financially or my option is live off crumbs the government is throwing us that will keep in their poverty category. So I am not retired as most up there up in age doing or dreaming of happening soon, but I am FIRED into life. I feel super young and very active. My past is my history and my today is now. I may be slow in blooming or getting this whole picture but I'm not about to quit from life. My husband is like yours. Mine is waiting to see $ evidence to prove I am making money. I have spent literally tons of money online in learning. I am working on a website, taking a class, but may still hire a VA for finishing touches. You may have some noticeable challenges, and regardless of how long it takes--even if frustrated, just getting to the finish line in your own run of wherever that is, is a WIN even if not in large hunks of money. You are engaged.

Years back I was labeled/diagnosed disabled, but regardless if so or not, it took me longer to accomplish the mission, but I never quit or bought into the diagnosis.

I have no idea what Squidoo lens is either unless I google. Many people have handicaps visible or not, but many quit before they accomplished their dream. I'm with you and want to learn this business too. We have NO income for 6 months each year, but hubby saves during his seasonal business but we can never get ahead. This is the drive since UNstuck that makes me dream and live bigger.

I am searching and invested in many shiny objects....there are so many offers all the time...like every email?

Here if I can help, but the main wisdom is going to come from the pros or nearly pros--not me at a newbie. Wishing you the best.

Remember Cindy, no judgment here as I see you as a success even by just sharing the real Cindy story. Awesome!

Hi Carol!

First, I want to say thank you for your words of encouragement. I take them to heart! :D

And second, I usually don't join something and come right out and tell my "real" story... I usually like to get a feel for the community before I tell people, but I'm sick of hiding, so that's why I told you all about the real me now!

If anyone would like to read about what actually happened to me, it can be found here:

Hi Cindy,
Read your inspiring story. I saw this as beautiful, real and showing those who can perceive it that "accidents" happen and never planned out. But through it all you are fighting neck pain and moving. In life we all can sit or move and for you I salute you for moving ahead. It takes time whether handicapped or not. I would suggest don't be embarrassed over something you couldn't plan and people will continue to respect you for your story. I was thinking affiliates in handicapped tools or such. Just a thought and surely there are others doing same but you are you so feel no competition.

Off to bed and planning on joining the elite membership program here. My eyes are shutting so tomorrow looks like ideal.

Best to you and offering help as newbie........Thanks again for being transparent--being real is real!

Thank you sooo very much, Carol! I will definitely think about your suggestion! :)

Is there anyone else in this forum besides Carol? I would really like to hear from other people! ;)

Cindy,
I apologize for not replying to this. This thread is for welcomes so I quickly come by and welcome new members but had to go back to see your post. For further input and suggestions feel free to start a new post in the main forum.

As for shiny new things syndrome, I used to have it until Lynn kept drilling me to remember "from start to profit" which means start one thing and when that is profitable enough to where I have time and money then I can start more.

As long as you have the determination and perseverance, you can make anything happen! This IM stuff is cool and you CAN make a nice living from it but it takes time and lots of work.

As for Wordpress, you were probably using the .com but what you'll want is to use the .org once you have your own hosting.

My recommendation is for you to start a new post with any questions you may have about starting a new blog, reviving the website you currently have, etc.

Hope this helps!

Hi Lynn,
I have two sites right now. One blog going under my name, one forever working on and changing with new content which is a premium ithemes site. I am thinking to get ahead I need to get that opted in box going for flexpro that I am using. I could go to their forum and ask as well, but since you wrote Cindy I may be another one needing some assistance perhaps. Or, opened to other ideas so that I can get that list being built.

I have some webinar and products questions so may start a post for that.

Thanks.

Hi Cindy! I also consider myself a newbie, though I was here several years ago, I am starting from scratch now. I also have some physical disabilities but I am determined to succeed in spite (or maybe because) of them.

I'm sure you'll get much support and help from the wonderful people here. I know I have!

Kathleen,
I admire you for not quitting nor is Cindy or myself quitters. I am challenged in the overwhelmed mode and being the only geekish type in family my choice is to ask and receive, but give back too.

Best to you.

Oh, sometimes disabilities are not always seen like learning disabilities is one that comes to mind so more are challenged then perhaps evident. You are hanging in so awesome.

I'm new here so offering help I would love to but lack of wisdom, I'm not your best teacher but yes cheerleader to the max.

I have been happily married going on 11 years now, but my hubby thinks I'm wasting my time with this IM stuff!

My husband was very doubtful when I started out online a year ago. This week we bought him his own domain. So there is hope for your husband. :)

Welcome to the forum. You're going to love it here.

Welcome Cindy

I like your site and I'm sure with some tweaking and advice from the folks here in the forum you'll get going again and get earning again too.

Perhaps you could put your own wordpress blog on that domain?

Also - maybe think of giving a freebie and getting people to join your list so you get more chances to sell to them.

With your determination and a little help your business will be rocking and rolling!!

All The Best

Alex

Hey Cindy,
When my husband starts to type or hire someone then I know he is engaged into online marketing or when the money on my end rocks then again another chance to convert him.

I like your website lots. The blog is into your wordpress theme, premium one, Studio Press. In process of using Ithemes one right now.

I also saw your "opt in box" for freebie offered there. I was very excited to see your website as I can identity the parts and format. I'm newbie in that area and here but I know some things to look for. Colors are super nice. Are you outsourcing with VA or any of the stuff? Lynn and others would have better eye than me on color talk, but super nice to my eyes.

Nice to meet you Cindy,

Wow what a story. glad to meet you here. Found you on twitter also.
I think you site looks great.
One idea is to add a privacy policy, terms of use and disclosure to meet FTC regulations.
My wife's site http://cathefranklin.com has the privacy and terms from a company that does it for free and you can follow that link.
I just found a disclosure site that creates one for free over at another sswt members site http://www.imarketonmac.com.
Another idea is to add a blog installed on a subdirectory /blog and that way you can create a bit of fresh content to help google like the site. Yet now it is a money page and that may be all you need with the links from Squidoo and ezine.
You are ahead of me I do not have a Squidoo lens or ezine article yet.

A belated welcome Cindy! I admire your tenacity! I am a little bit disabled but am mobile, but I can certainly relate.

I know you will learn a lot here, and will receive a lot of help.

Hi Lynn,

Yes, it is totally cool with me that you moved my post! :)

I'm sorry I haven't been here in over a week, I got sidetracked with another "New shiny thing"! Geez, you'd think I'd have learned my lesson - guess not! :(
