I thought I'd start a thread and track my progress regarding SEO for 4 related pages:

http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-management-for-kids/ - to rank for: Time management for kids
(http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-management-for-kids/)
http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-management-for-parents/ to rank for: time management for parents (http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-management-for-parents/)

http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-management-tips-for-parents/ for time management tips for parents (http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-management-tips-for-parents/)

and

http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-saving-tips-for-parents/ for time-saving tips for parents
(http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/time-saving-tips-for-parents/)

I will post a minimum of 2 links per day for each page and see how long it takes me to get to the top of the SERP's!

PS- what is that tool where I can enter my keyword and URL and it tells me which page of Google I'm currently on, so that I don't need to go to Google and count?

This was 2- one in this forum, and one here: http://www.freelancemom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19160

I have to go through the 5000Backlinks package to see which sites are related to my subject matter. Do you think links on irrelevant sites count for much?

There are a bunch of tools that will tell you where you are ranking in Google for a particular search term. There are two that I use.

The first is Rank Checker at SEOBook.com. It's a free FireFox plugin.

The other is Rank Tracker. It is part of the SEO Powersuite software. There is a free and premium version. The free version will do what you are looking for.
