Me..the newbie again...

I have to install a theme on my blog and plugins. Does it matter which comes first?

I have a list of plugins I am going to install ( as per recommendations) since of course...I have no clue which I should or not...so am just going to jump inwith the recommendations.

I have been looking thru the hundreds.......of free wp themes and do like Lightword...so far the best.

I have also come across Woothemes..which I can purchase for $70
[URL="http://www.woothemes.com/themes/"] .......I am screwing up the link to this...not working for me.....or I am not working it right.

anyway....I really like their newest one called: canvas

It seems like it can accomodate all the thing I want to accomplish with my blog...and i just liked it.

1. Can i go ahead and have the plugins I want installed on my blog right now, the way it is.....and then take a few more days to decide on the theme?

2. Or, do I have to install theme first....then add the plugins.

I am going to Bobtheteachers SIMPLE in NC this weekend...and travel tomorrow...so.....I have an outsource I can get to do the plugins for me while I am there....and then work on the theme.

Thanks for you input, advice and help.

greatly appreciated

Themes can normally be switched back and forth as many times as you wish with no effect on the plugins. The only exceptions are some plugins that take advantage of particular theme features, like a right sidebar. Go ahead and install your plugins.

WordPress is pretty easy going. Sometimes though plugins will pick a fight with each other...

Wade and Alex are both correct. I might add that certain plugins will not work with the latest version of WordPress. If you find that a plugin is not working you might want to check its compatibility with the platform and not assum the problem is with theme.
