Whats Your Favorite Reasons For Starting Your Own Home Based Business?

Mine are as follows:

I love being my own boss, I can set my own hours work when I want, where I want!

I hate trying to make someone else rich.

I hate being underappreciated when I work for someone else.

I love being able to sell to the whole world from my home office. Lol how cool is that? You have to love the Internet best invention ever, hands down!

What finally was the last straw when you said to yourself screw this I am gonna start my own home based business? I just cannot do this 9 to 5 B.S forever!

What finally was the last straw when you said to yourself screw this I am gonna start my own home based business? I just cannot do this 9 to 5 B.S forever!

It was 1980. I'd just received my BA and teaching certificate, and had applied for a job. I was pretty sure I'd get the job, and was waiting for a reply.

And then it dawned on me. OMG, they might actually give me the job, and then I'd have to actually do it! I came face to face with the reality of a lifetime of 9-5 for someone else, and blinked.

So I called them back, and lied, and said I'd already found a job. But, but, they said, we were just going to call you today to give you the job! Oh well, I said...

I learned how to install wallpaper, so I could be self employed. When you discover you'd rather have glue on your face all day, rather than work 9-5 for someone else, you know you need to be self employed.

Happily, there is no glue on the Internet. :)

Now I work 24/7 for myself.

I want to have my own home business so I can be in control of my own time and have more time to spend with my family and friends.
I am looking forward to the day I can say "I work for myself"

My husband and I work for ourselves right now. We own a locksmith business. Unfortunately, we are still working the 9-5 nightmare, except that we work more like the 7-7 or 8 nightmare. Long days and long hours, and the current economy has taken a bite out of our business.

I started looking for a way to make money from home back in 2004 when I realized that I wanted the freedom that an online biz could give me and my family. I finally feel like I am making progress. My goal is that by this time next year, my husband will be officially retired from locksmithing and we will be self employed online entreprenurs.

My husband and I have always wanted to have something to call our own. My husband has been in corporate america for over 20 years and is just tired of it. We have tried so many different ventures and just werent successful at it. Ive been a SAHM for almost 16 years. My husband enjoys spending time with our children as they are both very active Club Swimmers and would love to be able to just pick up and go to HS swim meets etc. We also like to meet new people and network, and with hubby working from home it would allow him and I the flexibility to do so.
