Need to create sales page and optin box to "start" growing list.

I'm learning Ithemes Flexx right now and may be able to figure it out, but in case not, suggestions on finding free templates or second choice paid for.

Familiar with www.fiverr.com for outsourcing? A friend was pleased with movie they did but she paid $15 as more complex. She was happy!

Would you get separate domain or your suggestions? Or, should I add in to to an existing website, although I may not be using the existing one I have later on.

I'll use aweber.

Thanks.

Hi,

there is a wordpress theme with an optin form already in it . You just alter the wording .Here is the link to download a copy

I have a resource (one of mine) which is based on Thesis - but that is a paid theme though. It is a tutorial which may cover some of what you're looking for.

I've often read that the plainer and uglier these things are, the better they work. Which is what worries me about some of the offerings out now for ready made squeeze pages. They are often graphically very beautiful and designed (possibly?) to attract the internet marketers's vanity (i.e - we think we all want to have graphically beautiful squeeze pages) so are tempted by the sales pitches to buy there ready made systems. When in fact they just make money for the people selling them rather than convert well for you. You may be better off with something more home-made looking.

Owh, brother... this must be the third time I am writing this. I accidentally closed the window or FF is playing with me.

Anyway, I agree, minisites are becoming too common and cheesy. The more people use it, the less effective it becomes. I fear the day will come when people instantly recognizes a minisite subconsciously and just browse away... (maybe it's already here)

I like a fresh new look on sales pages... like...

http://www.theamericanmonk.com
http://teachingsells.com
http://www.silvaultramindsystem.com
http://www.freshbooks.com
http://basecamphq.com
http://coveractionpro.com

and many others...

Generally, I like to look at how software companies like ZenDesk and 37Signals design their sites. And then, I also like MindValley who have been designing sites to sell info-products (see The Silva and American Monk above).

Well, I'd agree if you want to move away from the cheesy header-footer minisite design. Rather then designing header graphics for your mini-site, think about informational graphic that will capture that attention of your readers.

Imagine a photo of a smiling baby beside a headline like "Even A Baby Can Do This!" Get what I mean about informational graphic?

Oh yeah, see these too...

http://affiliatebully.com
https://sales.ppcbully.com/private/content.php
(and other ppc bully sites too)

I think, if you provide these 5 and design a website around it, you should be OK

1 - What can visitors get from you?
2 - Any special offer, USP to that? 300% money back guarantee, free trial?
3 - Provide proof like charts, social proof like testimonials, media exposure
4 - List out features and benefits
5 - And lastly ... CALL TO ACTION

Hey, I think I should expand this into an article. And maybe guest blog... as for this April Challenge.

Wow - this one: http://coveractionpro.com/ looks more like a website homepage than a sales page. I'll be learning from this - although right now I'm trying to stop myself from buying the product!!

LOL!! OK, OK... did not put that link there so you'll buy from them. Just want you to see the sales pages... the non-cheesy ones, in my book that is...

It's not clear from your question whether you want a "sales page" where you are selling a product or an opt-in page with a freebie as an incentive.

If the former then your blog can be like this

www.salesletter.com/blog

if the latter then you can put the blog in the root of the domain like this www.myblog.com

I am not familiar with Ithemes Flexx but if you use a plain theme you need no template at all - just use a good attractive headline and a few bullets and pop your aweber code in.

You only need a simple short page for an opt-in list building page.

"Doesn't make sound business sense to me! "

What you say is of course true but with a good guarantee you will sell more - you will convert more visitors to buyers.

That is why people are happy to buy from clickbank because of their easy refund policy. If it was better business all those merchants would be off to another affiliate network.

Also you have to remember that online you are buying, "a pig in a poke" - in a bookstore I can sit down with the book and have a good read - online I can't and so there must be an easy refund policy or sales will dry up.

Notice that amazon has a "look inside" facility on may of it's books now - a brilliant move on their part and we are going to have to match them.

For our expert list building product we give away the first chapter of the book for the same reason.

Hi Kidino

Permit me to recommend Lazarus for Firefox. This plugin has saved me a lot of retypings.
