Using paypal with coaching clients

Hi:

I have 2 questions about using paypal with coaching clients.

1) I would like to offer them the opportunity to pay by credit card via my paypal account. I know that a client click on a button on my website and pay that way. I have heard about sending a paypal invoice on the date of service. Have any of you done that? Which is better?

2) Do you have coaching clients that you work with over the phone pay on paypal before the session or trust that they will pay for the session afterwards?

I would send them to a page on your site to pay or send them an invoice at the time the session is scheduled and would recommend you not do the session until they have paid. People get sidetracked and forget to pay you otherwise. :o

I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you or not but thought I’d share.

I recently purchased coaching services from someone who sold her coaching in blocks of time. I think I paid for an hour or maybe two but anyway, I made the purchase via paypal and was immediately sent an email with her available time slots. Once I confirmed a time she sent another email with a phone number and access code for me to dial at the time of our session. She used www.freeconferencecall.com. I asked her why and she said because it’s free, no one has access to her home phone number, it’s easy to schedule and it keeps things more professional. Being in direct sales in the past, I was very familiar with these conference call lines but had never seen it used quite this way. I thought it was great idea.

Another option would be Audio Acrobat (http://premiumweb.audioacrobat.com/). Recording the sessions for the participant to listen to later would be a definite plus. Good suggestion!

Hi Cindy:

That's a great suggestion and a brilliant way to use freeconferencecalling.com. I use that service already to tape my interviews with Quest Makers every month and I also use it for conference calls. Using it for my clients, I could record the session, then send the client the mp3 when the call is completed. Now I just need to add the paypal feature to my website and I am in business.

That's exactly what this girl did. She recorded our conversation and then sent it to me so I'd have it to review and refer back to. It really added value to her service. I thought it was a brilliant idea, too.

Freeconferencecall.com handles up to 96 callers. The monthly teleseminars I do have 150-600 callers so I use the free, companion web site: www.freeconferencing.com (http://www.freeconferencing.com). It allows up to 1000 callers. Has the same recording features, reports, etc.

I would like to send them to your site for payment or give them an invoice before the session. Never conduct the session before the payment. Otherwise they will forget.

Here's another option - Genbook (http://techbasedmarketing.com/tools/hands-fuss-free-appointment-scheduling/823/). The free option does not take payments.

I also have one-on-one sessions that are laid out similar to what others have outlined here. There are payment buttons which are directed to my Genbook scheduling system after checkout. Then Genbook takes care of reminders etc.

Since we have a payment system/shopping cart already I didn't use the premium account. You can do the same way for PayPal buttons too. But I thought it nice for service providers who may not be set up for online payments to have everything in one place.

I'm currently testing BookFresh for online appointment scheduling and with the paid version, they can pay you with paypal. You can even require that they pay when scheduling.

Seems to work well so far!
