I don't use the pretty links plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/pretty-link/) but it does sound interesting. I just do my own redirects for affiliate links, etc.

I have it installed on a few of my niche affiliate sites. It works great for creating shortened urls and cloaked affiliate links. It has some decent stats tracking but not as nice as a service like bit.ly

If you are looking for a quick and free cloaking solution it works great!
