Hey everyone,

I have been trying to get links from related sites and found that ‘link exchange’ is the preferred mode. But it is not much valued by Google, and hence holds no relevance to me. That becomes a problem for my SEO plans.

My site is a commercial site and needs to be linked with its relevant partners in order to gain SERP. How many links are necessary for gaining position in the search list ranking? Is there an ideal quantity that is required to make the cut?

Please let me know any details. I will be much obliged.

Thanks a lot for all your help.

Back links are very important for every site as back links will not only help you to gain better SERP and PR in the search engines but it will also help in traffic generation for your site.

Josaph,
I don't think there is a certain number of links that you need to have to get listed in the top 10 on Google BUT you would want to try to out rank your top competitors if at all possible.
