I am a freelance writer who is looking for more work. My experience includes my VA blog at http://www.loracvs.com and my travel blog at http://www.writefortravel.com.

I currently write a regular column for an RV magazine, write for senior magazines, business articles, regional travel magazines and online publications.

I am interested in subsidizing my income while I am working on getting my affiliate business profitable. If you need any writing at all please contact me.

Have a great day!

Are you just looking for private clients and pay right now or something you can work on long term? I just got hired at http://brighthub.com and they have a ton of work needed in several niches(or channels as they call them). The pay is not the highest. It is $10 for a 450-550 word article but you also get a percentage of the ad revenue your article receives month after month. I just finished my first article and it was pretty easy.

I have a list of a bunch of other places too like this if you want more places to check out. If you are just looking for private clients though, hopefully someone will ask you soon. I have gotten a few good contracts through here!

Good luck. PM me if you would like more info.

Melanie

Hi Melanie,

Thanks for the info. I just want to work! I will definitely check out brighthub as you suggested. I don't like the pay but it does bring in some income while I am working on others things. I got one client through Elance that was worth while. Have you tried it? I am also letting SSWT members know I am available if they need any writing done. Thanks again.

Carol Ann

I forgot to mention that I have picked up several contracts through the information and opportunities found on the http://wahm.com/forum (http://wahm.com/forum)

I just picked up one there last week that was writing for .04 a word. That is something I can work with when a lot of places online these days want to try to get away with paying one or two cents a word.

Just sign up, and scroll on down until you find the WAHMs who Write folder. Tons of stuff in there. Lots of posts on a regular basis. You can also find other types of jobs you can do from home. Sometimes there are writing opportunities in the WAHMs who Telecommute folder too.

I know, nowadays, we need to keep building up our nest eggs so that we have a constant supply of work when something else runs dry for awhile. I have some places that don't pay very much but always have work, and I have others that pay really well but only have work half the time. So, you keep your options open and do what you can.

I wish you the best!:)

Thank you! I also write for regional magazines both online and print - do you do any of this type of work? I submit photos which also creates more interest. It is more pay than some of these other places, but it is all work and I find that if I diversify myself into different areas it keeps a bit of money flowing my way.
Take care and thanks again.

I have never actually tried writing for magazines. I just figured it was a different style of writing than what I like to do. I probably wouldn't know where to start looking if I wanted one.

It has taken me three years to build up my reputation and to get together all of the contracts and resources that I now have. By the year 2013 when my two young boys are both in school full time, I should be able to work full time and actually see enough of an income to live comfortably from. I am just now looking into places like bright hub where I can also get residual income building up so that will be an extra bonus.

As long as one keeps pursuing their dream, and tries wherever they can, I believe they can make it. Others may choose business models that are more passive, and if I liked keyword research, finding niches, and promoting affiliate products, I would choose a different model. But I love to write and meet new people and see what everyone else is up to. So I enjoy my line of work.

Keep me posted if you end up getting anything with Bright Hub or from any leads on the wahm forum, I would be interested in seeing how you make out.
