I've been wondering a lot about any number of things lately that I could test with split-testing.....If I had some clues about how to do that. Is there a good guide or checklist somewhere, maybe specifically using Wordpress that anyone knows of?

Thanks.

Ken

I would recommend google website optimizer. There are a ton of tutorials on line. You could start with a simple A/B test and do from there.

Thanks Mark. I THINK I understand Google Website Optimizer, which I do have installed. It tests two landing pages against each other for conversion effectiveness. Then you compare the proportion of visitors who opted into your list from either page for a statistically significant difference.

But there are lots of little things I am unclear about. For example:

-Does the GWO test any metric OTHER than opt-in conversions?
-What if I want to test something like whether my site works better with or without a static front page? One test page would be a rotating blog roll and the other would be...well...static. The complexity of something like that seems to go beyond what the GWO does...or am I just completely off-base on this?

Basically, I was hoping someone on this forum might be "the expert" in split testing and be able to recommend the best source so I didn't have to wade through a hundred Google results for a "split testing" search.
