Hello!

I am Nickitta and a newbie to IM. Information overload is a big hurdle to any newbie.

I think taking the first step is always daunting. My first step has been to create a squeeze page, and I am now working on generating traffic to it.

I would love to hear about your stories.:):):)

Hi Nickitta,

That is actually a pretty good step. Most new marketers either try to make the process too complicated.

If I were to dumb it completely down for you, here is what it would look like....

Create an Offer- This could be content for content sites, an actual product for a list, ect...ect....
Find your market- This can be you going to where your market is (hustling) or doing things in which your market finds you (once again, hustling)
Figure out a way to get your market to do what you want them to do- This is the marketing side of the equation....

This model is the same offline as it is online and it doesn't matter if you are selling your own products, other people's products, ad space or a service. The mechanics are pretty much the same.

In your case, you are using the "gain-retain" list strategy which is a great strategy because if done right, the actual work would be less than say someone who is using content as the carrot.

Good luck.

Thanks for your message, but I do not quite understand the first step about creating an offer...

You have already created an offer....your capture page. That's your "content".

The next step is to figure out how to reach your target market....this can be done through forum marketing, search engine marketing, ppc marketing, comments on relevant blogs, article marketing, ect....

The final step is to get them to do what you want them to do....in your case (although I haven't seen your capture page), you are probably offering something for free that has a perceived value to your target in exchange for the ability to be able to email them at a later date. That's your "carrot."

Your success rides on how good you are at finding & connecting to your target market and how valuable your freebie is perceived.

Is that a little clearer?

I guess I need to get used to the "linguo" (technical language in English). Yes, that is absolutely what I am doing. It's all clear now.

Thanks:)

My first step in IM was reading forums and blogs related to the topic. Then I started asking questions and taking part in discussions and step by step I start practising.

Hello!

Did you already knew a bit about IM though? When I first started I did not even know what an HTML editor was, so reading the through the forum would not have been sufficient.

I had to take a proper course, teaching me basic skills that I could then implement.:)

I have created a blog and started creating content. I am a little backwards because I have not really gotten the keywords or a real defined niche. This is starting to be an issue because I am having trouble targeting content without a strongly defined niche.

Hello!

Just a quick update. I had my first clickbank sale this week and I am "over the moon". Just the incentive I needed:):)

Congrats! There are tons of different techniques to make cash online, and after a while of reading forums, blogs, and just random content online you'll find what really clicks for you. If CB is something you're really into, i say put in 110%, market the hell out of it, and once you've gotten enough business, buy your current offer that you're selling, rewrite it, add cool bonuses, and start reselling it to other affiliates and now you've got a passive income

Then (and you'll hear this a lot in IM) rinse and repeat :)

Hello!

Wooah! It has already been a bit more than 5 weeks since I started this thread. A lot has happened since. I have now 30 subscribers to my list and have made a few clickbank sales. I also feel a lot more confident about IM and concentrating on generating traffic.:)

Well said!

My advice to Nickitta is to stay focus and only keep working for not more then 2 programs when you first start, you will easily get distracted and losing focus if you have more then 2 programs running at the same time!

That is exactly what I am doing. 2x programs running is more than enough work! Also I think that with some much information around, it is very important to stick to 1 plan!:)

TRAFFIC - oh my this is one BIG mountain for me to get up!! :(

How are you doing?

Traffic is the lifeline of Internet Marketing. Setting-up the website is the easy part. I am sticking to traffic methods that I enjoy and have dropped the ones that were too cumbersome like "profile backlinks".

The first step will always be "KNOWING WHAT BUSINESS YOU WANTED and which NICHE you are targeting". It's quite easy to create a squeeze page however what's important is the niche you are entering. No matter how attractive your squeeze page is, but if you are in a very crowded market plus have no other marketers to back you up for email marketing campaigns, then it will be hard for you to succeed...

Aside from creating a squeeze page, I suggest you open connections with marketers in the niche you are into :-)

That's where "Research" comes into it. My plan has always been to identify first a market and then sell a product to this market.:)

Rightly said - Information overload is a big hurdle for a newbie.

As regards generating traffic to your squeeze page, your best bet would be to promote on manual traffic exchanges. There are some great TEs out there, such as hit2hit, traffic-splash, ilovehits and a host of others. Visit traffichoopla and you will find some of the best TEs listed there.

All the best !

At this stage I am not familiar with traffic exchange. The 2 methods I am currently using are blog commenting and article marketing.:)

Can you tell me a bit more about traffic exchange. How does it work?
