I require web designing tips

I love designing and sketching. I thought of entering into a related field. My friend advised me to become a web designer. I agreed to his suggestion because I had heard that this industry is flourishing. I have given some interviews in many web designing firms. Before I’m hired by a company, I want to be familiar with all the tips for web designing. When I work for e-commerce sites, I need to be aware of certain valuable lessons. In case you have any suggestions, they are most welcome. Can anyone tell me how can I keep a track of the latest trends?

Google Web Designing, training for Web Designers, WordPress training, etc. You will find a constantly evolving field What with WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc upgrading periodically, HTML is now in it's 5th version, Apache, PHP, MySQL are also needed to know, at least in how to properly utilize them.

Here's a few tips from someone 11 yrs in the industry:

Learn to code in CSS. It's sought after and will be very valuable to you.

Learn all about doing keyword research for any site you create. A web site you create can be totally awesome, but if it's not being found by both the search engines and visitors, it doesn't exist.

Keep any navigation on a site easy and understandable. A visitor should always be able to find their way Home within 3 clicks at the most.

Keep your site clean looking. Don't overwhelmed visitors with unnecessary junk. Don't go for the flashy, but the usable. You're going to be in the business of providing information.

Use some of the most well-established and used sites to guide you. If they're popular, it's for a reason.

Any site you create should load quickly. There are still some people with slower connections and older computers. Once again, don't overload a site with anything that isn't necessary that may time-out someone, lag them, or crash them.

Always build for the majority rather than a minority.
