View Full Version : Considering Elite Membership...

TrishL

Hi all.

First, am very happy to have found this forum - looks like a great community.

I am a professional writer specializing in creating custom SEO web content - but find my blog gravitates to what I call the "DIY-SEOer" market (focus on content marketing). So, am considering shifting the focus of my business/website away from writing for others to exclusively promoting my own products/affiliates.

Anyway, I am considering joining the Elite Member community and was wondering if any of you who are already involved with it would mind sharing how it has helped improve/clarify/or grow your business.

Thanks much! :)

I just did a blog post about the Elite membership and how it's helped me in both my business and personal life (http://easywahmwebsites.com/stuff-we-use-like/come-see-the-elite-side-of-life-at-self-starters-weekly-tips/221/)

It really has been a blessing for me to be a part of the Elite group and have these great people to bounce ideas around with in a safe place. I've found focus, I've got the group to hold me accountable for my goals, and I know where I can turn when I need advice on a new technique or if I need the wording of a webpage reviewed.

There are both a seperate private forum where you can ask questions, get advice, have access to various materials to help in starting, expanding any aspect of your business by people who've been there, plus there is a weekly hour long conference call in which you have access to Lynn Terry and can ask about whatever is causing you a problem. It isn't always open to join, so suggest you run, not walk to join up

From a newbie point of view it has helped me to focus since Lynn and Alex have really given me some good suggestions. This is my first elite group and I am not regretting.
You will get help if you need any and you will help others like us. And you can cancel any time.

Oh my Trish, I can't tell you how much elite has helped me. It's really something you need to see for yourself and you always have the opportunity to cancel at anytime. But for me personally, I have learned so much. Everything from Wordpress, focus, writing reviews and the list goes on. I think staying accountable to the elite group is big for me and I love that we can share stuff here that no one else hears about...the group is blocked from the search engines so we are free to share openly about what we're working on. I feel close to the elite group and trust them.

I really could go on but hope this helps. Would love to see you join us! Oh and if you don't have a referral link to use, I'll be happy to share mine with you LOL

Hi Trish

I highly recommend joining the Elite group ... As has been stated here already, its very private so you can throw ideas around and get some constructive feedback, and techie information ...

Last week I wrote a post on what I've gotten out of it ...

http://bit.ly/OW6w

I joined last fall and as a complete technophobe I reckon I'd have left the dream behind by now ... were it not for this great crowd of peeps led by Wonder Woman herself ... seriously ... you can't get better ...

Welcome to the elite group Trish! You should be all set. I haven't been in the private forum yet this AM so not sure if you made it in but it looks like you're good to go so you should be able to see all the elite forums now.

I've only belonged to the group for a short while - but wanted to post an update for others who might still be on the fence...

My advice to you is...

DO IT. I highly doubt you will regret it.

The monthly membership cost is a very, very small price to pay for everything you will gain by joining. I have learned so much from everyone already - and have barely scratched the surface.

I can't tell how much the elite forum costs as I noticed the asterisk next to the $27.00 monthly fee. Is this information shown anywhere on the site? Thanks.

Lynn Terry
September 24th, 2009, 01:27 PM
Hi Constance & Welcome :)

The asterisk is explained right below that - it's $27/month via PayPal.

Details can be found here:
http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/elite-members.php

Clay Franklin
September 24th, 2009, 01:31 PM
Hi Constance,
The Asterisk is that the price is billed monthly from Paypal. Also note that the price does periodically go up for new members. Members that are in good standing (paying members) stay at the rate they joined with. If you join you can share your frustrations and goals in a tight community that is willing to help you move to the next level. When you join at http://lynnterryelite.com you will get a social media marketing report that details the different social media sites and how you can use them to improve your google search listings and move your business to the next level.
See you on the inside,
Clay

Hi mksmith, I know exactly how you feel. Check out my about me page (http://www.clayfranklin.com/clay-franklin/). I am so deep in training. I will see if I can find my old about me page to show you the old one.
I am not making a living on line, yet have found the Elite forum my best investment in my on line business actually doing what it takes to make money part. It costs less than all the classes you see on the page I took over the last 18 months.

The change to the about me page was made because Lynn Terry reviewed my site along with other Elite members and I implemented the feedback they provided.

If you go to my home page, you will see a post about the Elite membership down about 4posts. Look at all the comments. They are all from Elite members. It is a support forum where everyone helps each other. No promise you will start to make money super fast, yet yuo will get great ideas to help you. There are a lot of others like you and me that are getting the help and support they need to keep making progress forward.
I bought http://lynnterryelite.com (http://lynnterryelite.com)to promote the Elite Membership and I truley believe it is a good thing for newbies and masters. There are some people not making any money and others in there making over $259k all helping each other. No guarantees, yet for the super low price it is the best thing I have going for me right now. I have a few other monthly programs I belong to still, yet this is where I come and hang out the most and get real people helping me real time, not just recordings. If you buy on my affiliate link I will be very grateful. You can read more about Lynn Terry Elite Mastermind group on my blog in the post I mentioned above.

Welcome mksmith :)

Our strong points in the group are action & implementation, but that does require your active participation of course. My advice is to hang out here on the public side of the forum, post a few threads and/or get involved in current discussions, and get a feel for the community. Many of the Elite Members regularly post in the public forum as well.

Take a couple of weeks and see what you think. ;)

Hi mksmith,

In agreemnet with Clay, I don't think you'll find better value for the money. Lynn could easily charge much more and I'm sure people would happily pay (I know I would).

I have struggled online for nearly two years now, tried a bunch of different programs, put myself in debt with the buying and currently not making a living online either.

However, I do believe its possible to make a decent living online and that you, I, and many others are definitely teachable -
with no better a place to learn than SSWT.

As Lynn suggested, hang out in the free public areas of the forum and explore. Post any questions you may have and read the threads. What you'll find is that this community is totally supportive of one another and helpful in any way possible.

I can not say enough good things about Lynn and the community of people she has here in this forum. Unlike other forums I have visited and belonged to, this is a very active and supportive forum (not self serving).

I've been a member now for about 3 months and have been more of a side line observer. However, I do jump in on as many Q&A and Brainstorming sessions as possible and from those sessions and reading threads I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and direction. Possibly more in the past 3 months than in the last 12-20 months.

All this new knowledge is without really actively participating. Knowing this, I have made the decision to take full advantage of everything the SSWT forum and elite membership has to offer by asking for help and being more active here (I can only imagine how much faster I will grow).

I have no doubts that you will be more than happy with all that is available to you. I can go on and on about what a great investment the elite membership is but you'll only know for sure by trying it.

Please do make a point of saying hello once you sign up :)

There are so many great benefits to belonging to this community - the best part for me is that the ideas, support and inspiration I've found here have really prompted me to take daily ACTION on my online business.

I tend to be a collector of ideas and love to learn new things - but until you start translating all that new information into action - you won't get any closer to your goals. Joining the Elite group has been the kick in the pants I needed to get moving in the right direction - and I can honestly say I've taken more positive steps forward since I joined (2 months) than in the entire year and half prior.

Money VERY well spent IMO!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Hi All,
I have just joined the Elite group and even though I am still waiting for my details to come through, after reading a lot of the forum comments here I feel it is something I can be part of.

I have tried everthing there is going online (well almost), and always felt I needed a helping hand along the way especially trying to get started with internet marketing.

I failed and failed and got so depressed about the whole thing I gave up. I came back several times even tried Wealthy Affiliate web site but that was just far too much info for anyone to take in trust me!

This forum is just the starting block for me and the kick up the ass i needed also i think.

The WA forum was not for me, people wanting money off you anytime you asked a question.

This forum is not overwhelming either, it is not too busy that you can't keep up also it seems to be full of real people not a bunch of Super Affiliates bragging about how much they make (or not) each month!

Anyone can make screen shots up of their earnings!

Anyway enough of that I have got it off my chest now, time to have a look at the Elite Section.

Back to work tomorrow after being off for 2 weeks with really bad chest and cold.

Good luck to all of you and get out there and make some money!

Gary

p.s. What details do you have to wait for once you have signed up for Elite Membership?

Hey Moses,

Elite membership is really cool. Lynn gives us all a lot of attention and we all support each other. We get accountability, encouragement and great advice. We also support each other with tweets, Diggs, facebook advice, joining faebook groups so the person has 25 members and can get a vanity url. Lynn Rocks and I am so happy to be able to be one of her members. Also once you are a member you can refer people and get a commission. Lynn does not promote the forum so it is up to referrals from members that causes it to grow. It thrives because of Lynn's tutelage and kind way.
It's not for everyone, it is for positive energy people that enjoy helping others and want to take their business to the next level.

Hi Moses,
I'm in agreement with everyone who has posted before me. The elite group has really changed my business in the fact that I am more focused and when I decided to only follow a few select people/groups, I found myself learning more and making money, who would have though? LOL The last quarter of 2009 was the best I had online doing niche affiliate marketing, blogging, etc.

It would be great to have you join the elite group. What type of business do you currently have? We are happy to help answer any questions you might have.

And a blog about money and/or health is going to be a challenge (I'm in the weight loss/fitness niche) but if you can make it unique to you, you'll do fine. Elite group will definitely help you move in the right direction from the beginning. Hope to see you on the 'inside' LOL

I'm a relatively new member to the Elite group, so here's my two cents.

I already have a successful online business and I've gotten to where I am by experimenting and making lots of mistakes all by myself. It was very hard and took me years...and well, I'm only one brain, so no doubt there is still tons out there I was sure I could get from other successful business people that I haven't even thought of yet.

I was ready to diversify my business plan and take my business in a new direction in order to prepare to completely quit the Day Job in the next couple of years, so I became an elite member thinking I might find an idea or two that I could use.

Boy, is there a lot of information and really smart folks willing to help! You know the old saying - two heads are better than one. Imagine how much better dozens of heads are to help you become successful.

I'm very, very happy and satisfied with my investment of the elite membership and strongly recommend it to anyone serious about becoming successful as an online entrepreneur.

Possible to get this past Tuesday's transcript as I came in 30 minutes late?

I'm here to help but before I can do that I suppose I better get some teachings under my own belt. I am creative, a good brainstormer and visionary been told and believing that for others as we know sometimes with ourselves we fall "shy."

HI Jane in the UK,
Know Bernadette Doyle's name there?

Thanks for welcome and yes BIG fan of Apple; however, they changed their one to one policy and I have a 2 WEEK wait to get in for a one to one training I paid for and love. I will be voicing my mind. They decided they will only offer those services in the morning. I thought it would be okay, but not the case. So when I deliver goodies probably tomorrow for Valentine's Day I will also be kindly worded about dissatisfaction about this change. Affects excellent customer service when we have to wait weeks and not just a few days. All is cool.

However they've been amazing over the phone with every which way's of questions ... We're not used to such quality of service in the UK ... sorry UK but we know we're busted on that one! I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment. Lynn referred me over to Kelly McCausey's site because I want to teach small businesses about blogging. I can't belong to both memberships, so I have to choose. Maybe one at a time, but I still want to be a part of both forums.

What do you do, and how long have you been here?

Lady Hawk, I am not in action and recent member. I love listening to what Lynn says with others and it's about acting to see it happen or fail. You can hear the programs on Tues. still, but you won't be in the Elite if not member; which is adding more value to you? Lynn has tons of great info. and wisdom. I don't know the other name. Ask Lynn what she would do as she is very upfront. She holds back no truth. The ones I am devoted to are those who are real! Best on your decision for which one. Can you have less dinners outside, or a movie or two saved or such to invest in both? Not saying you aren't doing that already, but still in case you didn't think of that I did.

Hi Carol,

I am absolutely sure that both places would be the ideal, but my concern is that I won't keep up with everything. I'm such so disorganized (where's the Fly Lady!) and multi-tasking is not my forte.

Also, my problem is that I have a difficult time focusing and narrowing down. It's like a buffet, I like everything!

Lady Hawk
March 23rd, 2010, 09:41 PM
I got involved in the 30 Day Challenge with Ed Dale several years ago. Unfortunately, I was still teaching and couldn't put forth the time, but it did peak my interest. There was no doubt in my mind that the internet was the new wave of the future and it was where entrepreneurial minds could get a lift.

Now that I've dabbled a bit and found that my writing isn't half bad, I want to combine it with the ability to teach. The problem with that is that I have to know my stuff and be well acquainted with the content.

This is where I am at the moment.

CarolGiambri
March 23rd, 2010, 10:41 PM
Lady Hawk, I totally understand. I feel sometimes like I am a candy store junkie, but I am in great programs. At least here you can store away those chats and also transcript I believe too.

Some of my coaches say you just have a bit ahead of some that are less versed. For example: to a 2nd grander, a 3rd grader seems like they are so smart.

Ultimately you have to decide your course of action. I know even not being active in some investment groups, I save their material and find it useful. Best to ya and again, I can understand where you are at. You are not alone!!

Lady Hawk,
It's a tough decision. There are a lot of people in Lynn's elite group that do what you're looking to do as far as helping local companies bring a blog online. Both Lynn and Kelly are wonderful mentors though so whichever you choose you'll be in good hands. If you have any questions about the elite group feel free to send me a PM here on the forum.

I'm a member of Mom Masterminds also with Kelly but I think you're talking about her new program that just started is that correct?

Now that I've dabbled a bit and found that my writing isn't half bad, I want to combine it with the ability to teach.

Would it interest you to teach teachers? Here's an idea that might be suitable for someone with your experience, talents and interests.

As we know, there are many members here who are making decent or better money, working all by themselves.

Imagine that hundreds of people came together and cooperated to build a site. Such a site could become a serious income producer, right?

Who is in a position to do this?

One group that comes to mind are high schools.

As we all know, schools across the country are struggling with budget crunches, and even in the best of times, our education system needs all the help it can get.

Imagine a high school that has 1,000 students, 2,000 parents, 100 teachers, and a supportive local community. If these people put their minds to it, they could create a website that would generate significant new funding for the high school.

Plus, even more important, the kids would learn real world job skills they could put to use immediately upon graduation. Not many high school classes offer that.

Your experience, communication skills, and desire to teach might put you in a position to explain this opportunity to school districts all over the country. Or maybe PTA organizations?

You could perhaps become the nation's leading reporter on this issue, create a website on the topic with Adsense ads, and start writing, writing, writing.

Just a rough idea of course, brainstorming, it may not be relevant to your goals at all.

Best of luck!

If it were me... :) ... I would take Kelly's course and focus 100% on that, since that is exactly what you want to do. After you complete the course and you are putting the pieces into place, come back here and join us as an Elite Member (Kelly is an Elite Member as well) and we'll help you start, grow & manage your business.

It's very easy to get distracted, and to find yourself in too many places at once. It has taken me a lot of self-discipline over the years (and still constantly working on it) to make things happen. I admire the fact that you recognize that upfront as a potential issue. Do what you think will work best for you ;)

Now is a great time to join Elite membership since it will be closing soon to new members.
Be sure to send me a message if you decide to join from my link below in my signature where it says "Join Lynn Terry's Elite membership".
I want to offer a nice welcome gift to you to help you in your on line business. It is available to you as soon as I get a notice from Lynn Terry about your new membership under my affiliate link. If you want to know more about the membership you can read about it on my blog where I wrote an extensive review. You can leave any questions there that you might have before you join us on the inside. The link to my blog is also below in my signature.
Lynn, Thank you very much for the review of my website in yesterday's Elite brainstorming hour. It was the best review I have ever received and I am taking action today to implement the changes you and the other elites suggested during the private membership webinar yesterday. Yea!

It was my pleasure, Clay - the review was great fun! :)

We're going to have more of those, both live and recorded, for Elite Members as they are so helpful for everyone following along. Not to mention the site owner! ;)

Hmm... Ok.

Well, I know you, and will recommend you, based on the years of personal experience data available to me. In other words, I trust you to be running a good membership site, whether I'm a member or not. I don't have to see it to believe it.

I'm happy with that plan, hope you are too.

Hi, I am considering the Elite membership (I have been watching for it to come back and it has!). Because I am not making money yet it is a little steep for my price range (and I would still gladly pay, I just have a hubby to contend with :)).
If the price is too much, say three months down the line, can you cancel (I saw a 30 day guarantee, but no further cancelation info)?
Also can you download the webinars to play them back later on, say an iPhone?

JBird,
Great to hear that you are considering joining the elite group. I totally understand the issue with spending money if you're not making any yet but you need to come in ready to get to work. The elite group isn't fluff, we all work to grow our businesses and you can take your business from start to profit if you work at it.

You may cancel your membership at any time! And yes all webinars both regular Tues. SSWT webinars and Thurs. elite webinars can be downloaded for play back (bonus to elite members only of course). You get the option of mp3, pdf and/or full multimedia replay.

Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

I am the one who originally started this thread - and after nearly a year, I can say with 100% certainty - if you are on the fence - DO IT!!

Really. It is that good.

I recently added a post to my blog about it (Lynn - if this is inappropriate, I apologize. I hope this is okay to post here - my point in posting it is to share a real life example of what an IMMEDIATE impact joining this forum had for me).

At any rate - here it is: http://www.webcopyresults.com/2010/06/wanted-to-share-some-good-news-with-you/

I do have affiliate links in that post - meaning I'll earn a commission if you sign up through them. Honestly, I don't care if you do or don't in this case. I just wanted to add my two cents as someone who debated joining - and am still here nearly a year later (and have NO plans on going anywhere).

The private brainstorming group is more of a community than a membership site. It's not your typical "content drip" but rather a collaborative effort. While there is a lot of exclusive content, it is also very much a brainstorming & accountability group.

Elite Members can invite new people in (when it's open), and that changes the dynamic of their community. So we all take responsibility in the evolution of it as a group. It would seem unfair to tax the group by allowing people on the outside to refer new members, but not take part in the work that goes into it.

It's the only way I know to maintain the value, and the integrity of the group. ;)

Wow! It's hard to believe its been a full year since I started this thread.

I didn't hesitate long before I joined... I figured if it wasn't the right fit for me, I could always cancel later... 12 months later, I can honestly say that I would never think about canceling my membership.

The Elite group membership has been a HUGE resource for me - I've met people here who have become real-life connections for me as I continue to build my online business.

Plus, I can't tell you how many times I've logged in and gotten great advice and practical how-to tips on whatever I was working on at that moment. (The technical pointers alone more than pay for the cost of membership - I've learned everything thing here from how to work with the File Manager in my web hosting cPanel to different ways to redirect affiliate links in order to improve click-thru rates).

In short - this is a GREAT resource and I am really glad I found it! :)

Hi, did you join the elite membership when you were just starting out or already somewhere in your online buisness?

I am still new to online marketing and therefore would have to think twice before signing up for tools/courses/etc,etc after having burnt some cash on all the 'hype' out there. And I am still schooling so do not have a monthly fixed income stream rolling in every month, therefore have to be a little bit more careful with my spending.

Roey

Dear Kakaboo,

I understand about the finances. To tell the truth, I wish I had joined Lynn's Elite group sooner than I did! I wasn't "new" but had gotten off on the wrong foot from some not-so-great information at the beginning. Like I said, joining Lynn's group was one of the best business decisions I have made so far.

If you are not sure about joining, I would suggest giving it a try. But there is no magic - it is work. So if you are able to devote the time to developing your Internet Business, then go for it. What you learn and the help and support you need can make you more successful in less time.

Speaking of time - that is another benefit to the elite group. Having access to the people and information can help you save time with issues rather than wasting a lot of time trying to figure something out on your own.

Good luck with your schooling and hope to see you in the members section. :-)

It's actually something you need to see for yourself as well as you always have the chance to cancel at anytime, just for me personally, I have discovered so much.

Hmm then why are you not an elite member?

Haha no wonder I thought he sounded weird :p

Well I guess there's no point in asking so many questions, the best thing to do would be to take a month first and see whether it's suitable a not ($37 aint a lot anyway...). Good way to rid 90% of the tire -kickers anyway

But I am currently having exams which end in 2-3weeks time, by then I'll probably take a look!

Joining the Elite group will actually save you money. If you just go out and buy a bunch of training you may find it did not work the way you wanted. I find the Elites group very supportive and encouraging in not spending money of extra stuff you do not need.
Like next week at the private brainstorming session I am thinking of having Lynn and the group look at my Bounce House Insurance (http://www.insuremyjumper.com) site and give me ideas on why it is not converting to clients. Just one of the perks of being a member.

All the info on the brainstorming webinars is in the elite private brainstorming section of the forum. Go ahead and look around in there so you can see all there is to offer. We are posting in the main forum right now so I can't go into specifics but the webinars are held every Thursday at 12 noon Eastern and also on the 1st Monday of every month in the evening. You will get a link to the chat room that is to be kept private in the elite section.

During the webinar Lynn does site reviews, we give feedback on sites, share new resources we have found during the week, share our successes and much more.
