Hey Lynn and experts,
I am holding a tele-summit next month and was wondering what affiliate software you recommend. I was going to use clickbank, but don't think I can do it with a product that is free to sign up for and then delivered possibly a week after payment. (if they buy an upsell)
I just got rid of the extra 35 dollars each month at 1shoppingcart cause I didn't need it yet, but isn't there a way to install something once instead of paying
every month?

thanks!

Gina

Hi Gina,

Digital Access Pass or Amember would be my top picks. Both install on your server, so a one-time charge, and both work with various payment processors. They're also both pretty user friendly. There's also eJunkie, but like ClickBank, I'm not sure you can offer a free product with an upsell.

I've also heard good things about iDevAffiliate and Jrox, though I've not used either one.

Oh sweet. I didn't even realize amember had affiliate tracking built in and that would be smart just to host stuff behind a members area. I will look into that! Thanks. And lynn, I love how friendly your mobile app is. That raises quwastions for another day I guess, unless it was literally done with a plugin.

I'll second Amember especially from an affiliate point of few. I don't know how many commissions I've lost with 1Shoppingcart. I like the fact that amember permanently ties a customer to a particular affiliate. This means that even months later, if the customer I sent your way buys something else I get a commission for it.

I'm using amember on a couple of my sites. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Karon Thackston & I ran a 10-day telesummit last year and used Digital Access Pass. Overall it worked well and I have installed it on several sites since. The only problem that we had was that people don't normally use their PayPal email when they sign up for free. Then if they later buy something using their PP addy, DAP sometimes can't make the connection that they are the same person. They end up with 2 accounts. You might kick around the idea of charging $1 rather than making it free.

I'll throw a vote for amember. It's really easy to use and like Susanne mentioned....it's really nice for your affiliates.

It was beginning copywriting.
