putting video on your wordpress homepage

Can anyone tell me how to put video on my wordpress homepage?
I need step by step instructions.

There's really not a simple answer because it depends on where on the homepage you want it to appear, which theme you are using and where you are storing your video. If you want to store it on YouTube, get the Artiss You Tube plugin. You can then use that plugin to insert it into a post, a page or a widget.

If your home page is your blog post excerpts, then you can put the video in the post and make it sticky so it shows up at the top. If your home page is a separate WP page, you can insert the video on that page. You can put it into a widget in the sidebar or if your theme creates a widgeted home page, you can put it into one of top home widgets.
