Hi everyone

I am about to start the process of building my first blogging website. I really want to build a spiritual website, but have decided to start out with something just a little fun based around tennis tips. I used to coach tennis for many years and have a ton of information on the subject, so thought I would try this to start.

My question for all of you.
I am wondering if I will be able to work out the process of using wordpress. I do consider myself to be fairly computer savvy, but have little experience in web design. Have just been learning as much as I can over the last few years about affiliate marketing and I am very clear that I want to do a blogging website and referring products.

I have looked at doing a physical course here in sydney, australia where I live. cost around AUS$400-$500 a day. I have seen some online options, and also saw that www.wordpress.org has a lot of information. I'm sure many of you have been down this route before and would welcome any advice you may have on the process of learning wordpress. I am very keen to learn as much as I can. I have recently worked a little with wordpress helping out with the content side of a website for a spiritual centre I am involved with. So have begun to get a little idea of how it works.

Thanks for your help.

Lisa.

Hey Lisa,
WordPress is your best choice because you can basically get your feet wet with your site right out of the box. Most hosting companies have a WP installer. If yours has cPanel, it's included in Fantastico Deluxe. Then after it is installed, it comes with a theme that is just fine to begin the learning process.

Save your $500 and get a book like WordPress for Dummies and search YouTube for WordPress how-to videos. If you consider yourself computer saavy, then you will have no trouble learning this. I'm sure others will weigh in here on some free or inexpensive resources. Your money would be better spent joining the elite group here and getting some strategy help for your blogs along with the technical help.

Hi Lisa, welcome! I agree with Christine.

I'm NOT tech savvy and I found Wordpress to be quite simple. Sure I run into some questions but they can be answered here or found on You Tube!

Tennis I think will make a great niche to start with. Looking forward to seeing your 1st blog grow!

Best bet will be to buy a domain name, get your hosting account and upload a wordpress (.org) blog. You can get started real quick. Here's a great post for you to follow: How to Make Money Online for Beginners (http://www.clicknewz.com/2343/how-to-make-money-online-for-beginners/)

Thanks Christine and Angie

Ok so it appears that there is a wealth of free information out there, and Christine yes I feel that joining the Elite Group would be a very worthwhile investment of my funds.
Angie, thanks for the link, so much great information from there. Boy Lynn really does have an incredible amount of pertinent information on here.
Thanks for your support, much appreciated!
Time to get started after years of looking into it.

Lisa,
I would also agree about the elite group.

I will tell you that Lynn has a case study thread inside the elite group where she took her most recent niche blog and has shared EVERY single step she has taken up until now (it's extremely detailed). It's awesome so that will be the 1st thing you need to look for if you decide to join.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
