Starting an affiliate program

I am thinking about starting an affiliate program for my Florist ecommerce site. I am trying really hard to break in to the Richmond VA. Florist market. I can't get on google places for Richmond ( I am on it for Powhatan) because I don't have a physical location in the city. I do deliver all over the city.

I got to thinking about all of those VCU computer science majors that might like to make a few extra bucks as affiliates. I wouldn't limit it to VCU students or University of Richmond students but I was just thinking that since I am really targeting Richmond and the surrounding metro area They might be a good starting point.


thoughts? Advice?
