What exactly do you want to learn or get from this forum? I'll be happy to point you in the right direction. My first recommendation is to start a post to introduce yourself if you haven't already. This is a great community and every is willing to help so an intro would be a great start.

If I were you, I would start following http://internetmarketingformommies.com/ This is Jackie Lee's site... I have found Jackie to be very helpful! She takes internet marketing and breaks it down into bite sized pieces that makes it very easy to follow!

Static sites are perfectly fine too! My main site is static and then I added a Wordpress blog on to it. But you can always use Wordpress, the blogging platform as a content management system/static site as well. So many options!
