Welcome Scott! Glad to have you here.
Welcome Scott :)
Keep in mind that Wordpress.com is not affiliate friendly, so be sure to make the switch before you include any affiliate links (so you don't lose any of your work). I look forward to brainstorming with you!
Welcome Hock! Glad to have you here.
Welcome Hock! :)
Hi everyone,
I've been following Lynn on and off for a while now and love your friendly style and the fact that you personally answer questions on your facebook page. I loved a tip you gave in an interview when you said not to buy anything that you don't need immediately. I related to that as it's very tempting to keep buying new software and courses and domain names that you will use "one day". Great advice!
I first started online marketing in the late 1990s but let it go for a while. I'm getting back into it now and I'm hoping this forum will be a help. I've been wary of joining groups as it's so easy to get distracted on the net with "learning" and discussion instead of taking action. I want to stay focused and action oriented.
Looking forward to seeing what this group is about and to connecting with other online marketers.
One question on the elite membership. What times of day do you do the live calls? I'm hoping they are in the afternoon or evening EST so I can join them from down under. Thanks!
I'm so glad you joined us, Talia!
I answered your question on the times in your other thread (in the private forum area). We do have one evening call each month, and the daytime calls are recorded - you'll find the archives there in the private forum. See my other reply too, as we're going to be doing more calls and I'm happy to consider special requests. :)
Thanks for the personal response! I will check out the other thread
Welcome! Glad you joined us. :)
Hi. This seems cool, not sure how to go about learning on here but i have a lot of questions, any advice on how to search for advice? :)
FYI signatures are no longer open for the main forum.
As for searching for advice, feel free to just post with any questions you have. There is also a search function that you could try using at the top right of the page.
Welcome Tilen!
Welcome to the forum!
A cooking/food blog would be a great start I think. Happy to brainstorm if you need to.
Your first few steps would be:
1) Decide on niche
2) Buy domain
3) Get hosting account
4) Install Wordpress on hosting account
Don't wait too long to get started on something:)
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing what you decide.
Welcome! Feel free to introduce yourself so we can get to know you better. You can also find great ideas on many Internet marketing topics on Lynn's blog at http://www.clicknewz.com

Do you have an online business already, or what is it that brought you here?
I look forward to getting to know you!
Welcome Renee!
A great place to start is by reading one of Lynn's blog posts on how to make money online.
Come back and let us know your thoughts after you read that.
I'm glad your friend referred you here, Renee! I look forward to getting to know you, and hearing your thoughts after reading the post Angie shared above. :)
Hi Lynn
I just joined yesterday, and am looking forward to getting not only any tips I might pick up, but also would like to get involved as much as I can. I've been taking coaching for about a year and a half now, and have a web site all set up and trying to learn more about Wordpress so as to be the go to person when it comes to Wordpress. I think I know quite a bit now, but I do know that there is still a lot that I don't know. I've yet to build a list, I now have two people on my list but they are not responsive so I guess I could say that I have no list. I do however get a lot of comments on my site, but about every time I e-mail someone, the e-mail comes back undeliverable. That's about where I am now.
Hi Larry,
Welcome! When you say 'every time you email someone' do you mean when replying by email to their blog comments? If so, you don't want to do that - it's a notification email, don't reply to it. Reply to their comment ON your blog instead. Unless I misunderstood you? What is your link?
Hi Lynn
Yes, you were right, I was referring to the e-mail to the blog comments. I also reply to the comments. My site is larrysproducts.com.
Welcome Larry.
Definitely can help with some suggestions on your blog. The first thing I would do is to remove all the spam comments. You have a ton when I scroll down on the 1st page that you are replying to. Almost all are spam so I would just remove them altogether.
For example, ones that say excellent pieces, very nice post with a link, etc. That type of thing can really hurt your blog when it comes to Google.
I would personally recommend that you choose a niche you're familiar with. The Internet Marketing niche is going to be hard to promote if you haven't personally had success with it.
There are some script errors on your theme too.
What type of things interest you? Who is your coach?
Hi Angie,
I thought most of those were genuine comments. My coach who I've been with for over two years, is Sean Mize. He believes that there is a lot of room for individuals to get into IM. I actually have no other interest that I could use for a niche. I do like working with Wordpress, and I'm trying to become proficient in it. I am signed up for a Wordcamp on Saturday in Vancouver BC, hopefully I can still make it. I would like to teach others how to write blogs, articles etc., and how to set up and use Wordpress.
Hi again,
What do you mean by script errors on my theme and how or what do I do with that?
No they aren't genuine comments, sorry to say. I clean spam for a living (yes I love it ha) so just wanted to let you know. Went through all of them and would highly recommend you delete them all. Most are linking to sites you do not want to be associated with in the eyes of Google.
On the main page of your blog, there is a script error under your image before the comments.
When you reply to comments, you should reply ON your blog - not by email.
And sure, there is plenty of room to get into "Internet Marketing" and/or to teach people how to use WordPress, but both are something you really want to have personal experience with yourself first.
Hi Lynn
Sorry it took me awhile to get back to you, I was without internet for a few days. Yes, I understand that I must have some experience. That is one reason that I've been doing coaching for two years without much luck. Also, I have signed up with Lynda.com to get more knowledge and hands on with Wordpress, and to learn more about blogging and setting up sites. Between going to the Wordcamp and taking these courses, I see that there is a lot for me to learn.
You'll learn faster by diving in with a blog / WordPress website on a topic that interests you, and getting hands on experience running one yourself. :)
True, I had a blog a couple years ago on playing craps. After a year I had forgot to renew my URL and it was sold. Hostgator still has all the content, and I'm still paying for it, but I don't have a site for that right now. Along with taking the Lynda. com courses, I'm trying to revamp my site. The only thing is, I can't remember how I changed the Theme to get it how it is now. I think, if I can, I'll put it back the way the way it was when I downloaded it. Also, I thought I was going to be different and instead of posting my content I put everything on a page. Then when I wanted to start separating and categorizing things, I couldn't.
