Default Email, Autoresponders, diff svc. providers

Okay, so I've been using MyEmma for a while & I love their service, they're always so helpful & they custom did my stationery for me (which I guess any of them will do if you pay for it!)

My question is, I emailed MyEmma re: having multiple opt in lists.

I intend to have multiple online sites/biz's, so I need more than one list. So, MyEmma has my stationery for my one biz, but I'd want different stationery for the others....

They told me that it's not a good idea due to CAN/SPAM & privacy laws, that I really should set up an account for each biz....

A-weber (when I emailed them) said no problem, you can have as many lists, campaigns, etc. as you want. I didn't specify re: the stationery, having different ones available in the same account, I probably should have....

What is your take? And, does anyone here use one Aweber account for multiple biz's? And, finally, can I get the html code off of MyEmma & xfer it to Aweber????

Yes, you can get the HTML code and put it into Aweber's editor. And yes, I have multiple lists for multiple businesses in my one Aweber account - no problem. They offer tons of features and very detailed statistics too - segmenting, etc. You'll love it once you get used to it!

This is the SSWT link, and they offer a free trial if you want to test it out first, and set up your HTML templates to see for yourself: http://sswt.aweber.com

Here's my question regarding auto-responders/aweber. My site is still struggling with getting traffic. I have sold nothing, well almost nothing, and Have no one to put on a list. Should I wait until I start getting some traffic to spend money on such a thing as aweber? Unlike the rest of you, I am not rolling in dough, so I need to be careful until da bucks start rolling in. I will do what I must, but it needs to be a must.

They do have a free trial option - so you could start with that, and make it your objective to start driving some traffic before the first billing cycle.

When people do arrive on your site, even if it's just 10 or 20 people, don't you want a way to follow up with them?

I don't know, do I? I know that sounds stupid, but I have been burned before, not so much by others as my own tendency to jump into things without thinking them through. I already have one more site than I should at this point.

I understand that everyone say build a list, market to the list, but if there is no one on the list, then I am paying for something I don't need. Now, I believe that once Google gets in gear and re-indexes me I will have more traffic, and I have some now, but usually less than 20, some days less than 10.

I want to build this business right and I don't want to do things I shouldn't and then have to quite because I have driven myself out. As I said before, I tend to be my own worst enemy!

Well, its kind of a catch 22 don't ya think?

That's the reason I suggested starting with the trial...

    Stephen,
I guess it depends on your overall objective. I took a look around your site from your sig link. Unless you could provide enough messages, affiliate product suggestions, and news relating to your subject(which to me is a hard niche), it may not be worth your time.

You said you are not making much money yet? Depending on how you make your money, you may want to think if having a list will help. I have 4 websites with a different list for each, separate subject emails, separate freebies, and find that although my list is slowly building up, I haven't seen much money from them yet(been almost a year), so I often get discouraged too. I share an aweber account with my mom so the cost is not too much for me to feel like it is a waste of money when I don't seem to get many results for my effort yet.

I do say though aweber is the best. I have tried some free autoresponders, and a few other cheaper autoresponders and aweber offers the most in regards to helping you get the most from their service.

In the end, the choice is yours. Where do you see your business down the line. If you see building a list to be a great income builder than it may be worth the monthly expense. I try to save wherever I can, but this is one thing I feel will help build my business in the long run.

Thanks kdbbiz and Lynn! I am working on the site and adding more affiliate stuff (just uploaded some before signing on here). I will soon have an ebook, if I ever get it back from my editor, and I have some podcast stuff to add. I am working on it, but it isn't there yet. I want to do this right, but as I said before, I have not thought things through before and jumped in with all three feet and then found I had erred. Once burned, twice shy i guess. It's what keeps me from jumping to Elite membership.

    Stephen,
I think joining elite might help get you past it all. It's an amazing group really and everyone is so helpful. You definitely will get more personal help in there than the regular forum. If you have any questions about the elite group don't hesitate to ask. We'll be up front and honest with ya

When you get the ebook ready, you'll want to be able to follow up with your buyers. Take it one day at a time. I always say you dont need it until you know for sure you need it. Sounds like you're not there yet.

But let's keep working strategically to GET you there
