Hello Everyone! I haven't been very active here, but I have read a lot of the threads.

I was hoping for some feedback on a few niche ideas I have and finally get to taking action!!

1st Idea: A blog that revolves around Health, Life Style, Self Development for Women Over 40 - I certainly am in this phase and this would cover everything from losing/maintaining a healthy weight, hormonal changes/solutions/sharing experiences, mindset, meditation, exercise, relationships, friendships, goals, challenges, empty nester's, etc. Is this way too broad? Is it a viable market to monetize?

2nd Idea: Travel website that covers luxury travel, budget traveling, bucket list destinations, unusual locations, best cruises, safe traveling, best resources, etc. I would travel for a living if I could and I am the go to travel planner among friends and family. I think a unique point of view could make me stand out.

3rd Idea: I love unique and quirky anything. I was thinking of creating an online store that has unique, quirky, fun, but also beautiful things for the home....meaning decor, art, storage and organization, stationary, journals, kind of a mash-up of things that can be grouped together and maybe focus on a theme each week that would showcase related items? Best example I can think of is: https://www.jossandmain.com/
My only issue is how to get access to such a wide variety of products to feature on my site?

Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks so much.

Hey Carol! I would say choose something you could do day in and day out. What would you like to learn/write about, do on a daily basis?

I have had a weight loss/fitness blog for over 5 years and also a travel blog (almost 3 years). Love them both for different reasons but I'm immersed in both as my lifestyle so they work for me.

The main part of the forum is pretty quiet. All the action is on the inside in the members area. We would love to have you join us. We also have 2 member brainstorming webinars every week.

    Hi Carol,

Sorry I am just seeing this now. I am new to the forum and haven't established my work flow for reading posts yet.

I like your #1 niche choice the best. I am 61 and I would certainly like that sort of information all in one place.

Maybe you can incorporate some travel posts geared to the age group as well as have a "quirky corner" category, again focused on fun stuff for us as well.

I did a Google search on "over forty blogs" and found some you can look at.

    Hope this helps.

I just joined the Members group and just one post requesting help and I clarified my niche that I have been struggling with for 5 years. Lynn is an amazing teacher/coach/mentor/hero and the group is fantastic - encouraging and helpful. Hope you join us :-)

Pam, thanks for your input. Lynn has been my mentor for over 13 years and I would not be where I am today without her. So I'm not surprised when others see how awesome she is Definitely an encouraging group to be part of! Not to mention you get her two huge products as a member (Social Marketing Results and Niche Success Blueprint).

You're very kind - thank you both.

Carol, apologies - I was out of town. I agree with Pam. I see a combination of all three topics on one blog, with more of a "personal blog" where you can really let all your interests shine on various topics. My TravelingLowCarb.com blog is a personal lifestyle blog, with a focus on eating healthy (low carb) but it's integrated with various aspects of my actual life - while traveling, living an active lifestyle, and I include things about my children and dogs etc. It's a lot of fun!
