Default Newbie Needs Your Help ... Please

    Hi Guys
I’m relatively to internet marketing, Was wondering if you guys/girls could help me, as I am at that point where I am stuck, don’t knowing where to go.

I have basic knowledge of building an online business:

    - Picking a niche
    - Creating a squeeze page
    - Building a relationship with your subscribers
    - Promoting products/help them get a desired result

I have a rough idea of how to put them together.
However the point I am really stuck, is at starting and putting things together. Ideally I am looking for a product or somewhere to go, that would literary take me by the hand and help me get started.

From what I see in the IM arena, there’s a lot of product about strategies, like traffic generating, list building and all that, the fact is I’m just not ready for that yet.

Would really love to hear what you suggest.

    Thanks

    Hello "new"

The method you outlined above is a very linear and simplistic way of "making money online" that would require paid traffic. That's in contrast to an "online business" - there's a distinct difference between the two.

In your method of "picking a niche", are you going by profit potential alone - or personal interest / passion?

I'm happy to help. I look forward to brainstorming with you!

    Hi Lynn,

    Thanks for replying to me.
Since posting my request for help, there's a couple of ideas floating around my head.
1- Starting an online business based around area that I am familar with and have expertise in.
2- Helping another expert creating an online presence
3- Creating a blog site based around a hobby, similar to what Ryan Deiss has done with his Survival blog.

All of which have their own unique pro's and con's.

For me my primary purpose for starting an online business is to be able to work from home and spend more time with my daughter, who's in her prime, 4 years old.

What I am looking for someone to help me get more clarity on the business I want to create and help me with coming up with a plan.

Finding someone to help with that is like finding a needle in a haystack, as a lot of people in the IM arena are focused on promoting products or techniques.

    That is true.

#1 and #3 go hand in hand, and that's what I do myself. A hobby OR an interest - whether you're an expert or not. My very popular low carb blog started barely after I got started eating low carb myself, but it's been a lot of fun! And also profitable of course.

I've been running that blog for more than 4 years now (going on five) but I've been blogging for 11 years (this month) and working from home & online for almost 19 years. My personal experience is that #1 and #3 (combined) offer the most options and the most flexibility - AND the most enjoyment. Your #2 can be limiting, frustrating and short lived. But that's just been my own experience - as it relies on someone else to pull their weight and/or keep up your timeline or agreement, which just doesn't always happen.
