    Default My Micro Niche Experience

I have a blog at CanadianWelcome.com that's been around for awhile and I post on a lot of things about living in Ontario. Family, culture, finding places to live, driving in the winter. Whatever happens to strike my fancy - including eating turkey eggs.

I have a fair bit of interaction with my readers, asking where to buy turkey eggs, what kind of boots to get, all kinds of questions. But what amazes me are the number of comments I get about a little place called Chalk Lake. It's a very small lake that doesn't allow motorboats and is basically only for the use of the people who live around it.

Well, I get comments all the time about Chalk Lake. I don't know if no one else writes about it or what. But I get asked can they fish, can they boat, can they picnic or swim, is there any way they can use that lake. Then I get the residents writing in to say 'no you can't, it's private.' Now I've got people writing in to ask when a property might go up for sale and can I find out about buying there. I'm about ready to start selling real estate on the blog if I can.

Anyway, my point is that you may think that the niche you are thinking about is too small to bother with, but you may be surprised. You don't know until you try.

Right on Carol! That is so cool that your site is evolving like that. Great job!
