Paul, even though I stand firmly behind my comments regarding focusing your optimizing efforts on Google, I also believe in presenting opposing viewpoints, whenever they come to my attention. In that regard, you should read, "How to Optimize Your Website for Bing" by Jeremy Morgan.

By the way, while nothing in the article really altered my opinion, I hope it helps you.

I'm not sure about recently, but for awhile I was seeing A LOT of bing traffic, but the strange thing was that it was for keywords, no phrases and when I went to the link I couldn't find my site anywhere - most of the words weren't great either, I can't think of examples offhand but at some point it was getting more annoying than anything.

So I'm not sure that the bing traffic is what I'd call quality traffic although I do like the search engine and am hoping that this kind of thing will get fixed.

I use hittail (which I love) so it shows the link that the traffic comes from and when. I do find that once in awhile I can't find my link so it's possible that it is actually many pages back.

That's the point I was making. Despite its impressive start, the jury is still out on Bing in a big way.

This came up on the IMTW Podcast this week (to be released soon) and the consensus was that it's too early to get a feel for their algorithm. Definitely something to keep an eye on though...
