Thread: Looking for RSS feeds for my site/blog

  1. Default Looking for RSS feeds for my site/blog

I just started my new blog at: http://www.websitepromotionresource.com and have a rss to html coverter script running which catches rss feeds and posts them on my pages as html (so SE's see them as fresh content) and I'm looking for topic related RSS feeds for anyone here with a quality RSS feeds who would like to syndicate on the pages of my blog.

Lynn- if you have an rss feed for the forums here I'd like to syndicate them with your permission. Let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jennie,

My RSS Feeds are used mainly for subscription, not syndication. You can search the RSS directories or Technorati.com for relevant feeds.

Will you also be publishing your own original content there as well?

    Yes,

it's my blog with some pages syndicating other blogs. The main page is my blog, and any RSS feeds posted there are not in javascript code, but html so there will be a spiderable html link back to articles--that's the reason I have the CaRP-catching RSS parser-- running, to give others that link back that SE's can follow.

I do not put a nofollow tag in the code because I want others to have the advantage of the link back. the advantage of it is that I have fresh content in html format, not javascript so my blog has fresh content even on days that I don't blog.

I'm in the process of writing an article titled; "How to update your blog daily WITHOUT blogging". See ezinearticles in a few days.

The nice thing about this script is I can use it on a regular html site, or in my case, with the wordpress plugin, on my wordpress blog. I can parse affiliate rss feeds onto my site as I do the deal dot com rss feed and it is read as html by the search engines, no javascript.

The dynamic web content software I use is CaRP Evolution. There is a free version (LE), but it has much less features and I don't know if the wordpress plugin works with it or not.

Anyhow, since I have it installed on my server, I can use it on any of my websites, just a matter of copy and pasting a few lines of code.

    I'll check Technorati, thanks Lynn!

I'm familiar with it. I've actually played around with it before, but it's been a few years. Some bloggers and site owners consider it "scraping" or "stealing" their content and may ask you to remove their feed, others will appreciate the exposure & backlinks.

I think the key is to be respectful, and remember the golden rule. Stealing content is definitely not doing so, but I generally show a 50 or so word description and the title link back because that's how I would have others treat me.

I only offer quality links to content that I myself follow and feel may be of benefit to my readers. And of course would respect others who would consider it scraping their content.

BTW- others are welcome to syndicate my content in this format, not pasting the entire content on the page of course, but a summary to quality content with a title link is great.

    Thanks Lynn!

    Thanks Lynn-

I do follow your blog and have found your content to be a source of inspiration to myself and others over the years.

I also read the content on this forum and find it very useful to myself and thus my readers may also find it so.

Syndicating in this way is actually considered by some to be the new link exchange (yes I'm writing an article on that as well).

generally when I post on my blog, the day after is spent writing and submitting an article on the same topic that links back to that particular post as well as my home page.

    Thanks again!
