Default Great Affiliate Marketing Tip During Tuesday's Session

Lynn, you really gave me a wake up call during Tuesday's SSWT call when you mentioned that it's much easier to convert sales for affiliate 'physical products' such as Tony Little's Gazelle than it is for information products like an ebook because a lot of the work has already been done through informercials and the public is already aware of the product somewhat.

I know that I thought about promoting the equipment that I use for my home office workouts such as a stability ball, skipping rope, and adjustable dumbbells, but never took action on it.

Immediately after the call I set up an amazon store on my blog that has the equipment that I use.

I then dug a little deeper and found out that one of the equipment manufacturers has an affiliate program that offers a much greater commission than going through amazon. So I'm setting that up now.

I really appreciated that advice Lynn. I'll let you know some results about how it impacts my business and sales. Thanks a million.

Awesome - I look forward to hearing your results!

Brand Names are great to work with because they pre-sell your visitors through commercials, infomercials, magazine ads, etc. So when someone reads your review on the equipment they associate all of that positive marketing to the buying decision as well.

This is one of the things I love about "hot markets" too. The traditional media gets the market in a buying frenzy - all you have to do is be there when they search for it online!

Wow! Now that's taking action, Scott!!

The "unknown" physical products are a lot trickier, for sure!

    So true, Dan.

On the other hand, with all the inundation with commercials every time we turn around now, it's a bit hard to find an "unknown" product! (That's a joke!)

From several years of eBay selling, I've learned to stick to known brands as much as possible. Odd brands don't bring near what familiar brands do, even if it's the exact same item. The big disadvantage of selling on the Internet over a brick-and-mortar store is that people can't inspect the item for quality very satisfactorily. By sticking to familiar brands or pre-sold products shoppers feel the know what they're getting.

    Excellent points, Wade.

In my case, I discovered that there were no "known" brands within the niche!

Hence the oft-heard advice: Research, research, research!!
