    Default Software for Reports

    Hello everyone!

I'm a newbie! I was introduced to affiliate marketing from another SSWT member, then the 30DC and now I'm here! Great stuff by the way.

I have a website up that I'm learning the ropes on: http://www.nauticalhomedecoritems.com
I'm learning the basics of posting, etc. on this site.

I'm interested in writing a report or short e-book (not sure how many pages qualify as a report vs. e-book). This report is not associated with the website listed above.

Is special software necessary to write and submit reports for affiliates? With my limited knowledge, I think that I would like to market the report myself and also submit it to clickbank for affiliates. I appreciate your input on this topic.

    Thanks,
    Rachelle

Most reports and ebooks are in .pdf format. You can create them in Word 2007 and use the .pdf creator (it's an addon). Or you can use the .pdf creator/editor in Open Office's "Write". It's free software. I like the latter because you can edit, add bookmarks, etc.

Thanks for that info. No special software- no extra expense, that's great news!

    Rachelle,

If you don't have Office 2007 but you do have Office 2003 as I do, here is a link with instructions on how to create pdf's using Word and Google Docs: http://www.lytebyte.com/2007/07/12/f...g-google-docs/. Works for me!

    Take care, Chris

    Welcome Rachelle

One small investment you might consider is Write That Report by Jonathan Leger. It's 7 bucks, and it was the one thing that really got me over the final hurdle of writing and selling reports (finally!).

I use http://www.openoffice.org software (free download). You write a document in the writer program, then when you are ready to turn it into a PDF file you simply go to File > Export as PDF. It will convert your document into a PDF file, which is the format for reports & ebooks.

That's all there is to it!
