    Default opt-in from affiliate link

How do I insert an opt-in from aweber from my amazon affiliate link so I can build my list? There must be a way, but I haven't done it before so I don't know how.

Not sure I understand your question. But as I understand it, you have to have readers opt in to YOUR offer. Not the merchants offer (your affiliate link).

Explain what you are trying to do and maybe we find a way to make it work, or at least confirm that what you are trying to do doesn't work and figure out an alternative, okay?

What I want to do is when someone clicks the button to go to amazon, instead, it has a page come up asking for the email. That way I can build a list of people interested in the subject tht link is offering. Maybe this isn't possible. I was just curious. I am just starting to monetize my site so the learning curve strikes again!

I don't think you can or necessarily should do this. It stops them from buying whatever you wanted them to buy, and then you don't get the commission. I can tell you that I would click away. . .

Bad idea, Steve. People will just click away. I would.

On your site it says: Subscribe to Life Change for You! by email. I'd get rid of this and put your RSS feeds there. Right now they're in the footer where no one will see them.

Your optin form should be on top of your sidebar so it's visible on every page. Right now you have no optin form.

Lynn even puts this under each post at ClickNewz.com. Give it a look to see how she has it. Just my opinion.

And that is probably the best answer!

However you could possibly get a opt-in after the sale by offering something for free that is related to the sale, of course depending on the policies of Amazon in regards to such things.

Yep, definitely one of those dumb questions.

NOT DUMB AT ALL. We've all learned how important getting a mailing list is - why shouldn't you be figuring out how you can push that? Give them something for free to join your mailing list, is what I was told at last Thursday's Brainstorming seminar, so I bought a 40 article PLR pack that I'm going to shove into aweber. Tomorrow. I'm just about brain dead tonight.

(Everytime I type Brainstorming Webinar or Brainstorming Group, I want to abbreviate it to BS Group. But I'm sure somebody would take me seriously and be offended.

I know what you mean about being brain dead and about the BS. I think I like that! Not that it is BS, in the typical sense, but the innuendo is kinda funny! Maybe only to us brain dead folks.
