Talking Do Hosting providers affect SEO/PR?

I was wondering if Google and other search engines give more Page Rank love to site that are hosted on... say, Godaddy than they do Hostgator?

Also, Other than having cPanel, is there any real reason to host your sites at HostGator (I mean besides the affiliate commissions one might get)? Godaddy say's you need to know only one reason to host with them... "Intel Core 2 Duo. Nuff said"! That is exactly what the Godaddy guy told me on the phone, so does that make my sites load faster?

Any one have answer to these Q's? Lynn? Traci? Hello? Anyone there? lol.

    Gary.

Personally, I don't like GoDaddy hosting. They are great for domain names, but you don't want to host your website with your registrar - or register a domain name with your host. It's best practice to use a separate registrar and host.

I haven't tested comparisons between those two sites for load/response times, but I'd guess there's very little difference if any at all. And for what you're asking - no, it carries no weight with the search engines.

As Lynn mentioned above ... NOPE!

Also, Other than having cPanel, is there any real reason to host your sites at HostGator (I mean besides the affiliate commissions one might get)?
You have something against people making affiliate commissions on recommending a good service?

LOL ... Of course they'll say that, they're from "sales"!

Seriously, tho ... IMO, GoDaddy is good for one thing and one thing only ... as a Domain Names registrar. In all my years online, I do not know ONE single successful online marketer that is using OR would even think of using the type of hosting services that GoDaddy provides.

They talk up the "bells & whistles" but in reality they are not very flexible with many scripts and software, complicated or not. Their control panel is flaky. Their tech support really "bites".

Tried them out just to see for myself a little over a year ago and I didn't even last a month with them. If I had consistent issues with them then how are people with less experience gonna be able to use them.

Look ... I also like to use NameCheap for domain names and I really like them but I wouldn't use THEIR hosting services either.

I always recommend never to buy your domains from your hosting provider. Keep those two things separate. That's like "putting ALL your eggs in one basket" type of deal.

And as for that sales person's "Intel Core 2 Duo. Nuff said" crap ... So what??? I have that on my Dell notebooks. Yes, it an excellent & fast processor but just about every other hosting service has at least that or BETTER.

Stick with the tried and true.

    My 3 centavos anyway ...

Dear Lynn and CorpRebel: Thanks so much for your answers! I was about to pull the trigger on Godaddy vs. HostGator last night. Actually I have Service and sites with both, but getting ready to start a new blog...I think, I hope! It’s in the StayBoosted.com type of niche, except from a different angle.

A SPECIAL thanks To CorpRebel for taking so much time and effort to write so much GOOD detail. Btw CorpRebel: No, there is not a thing wrong with ‘Hostgator affiliate commissions’, I myself would like to have about 9,000,001 of them! :P

Lynn, don’t be jealous about the “Special Thanks” to CorpRebel coz after all, in “my” mind, you’re the "Awesome"....Absolutely Super Duper Ninja Zen-Master Sneaky-Pete Sleeper like, and partly like Winston Churchill says, “Walks Softly but carries a big” bazooka... Lynn Terry! (not stick, that’s too wimpy).

How’s that Lynn, better? Are you blushing yet? If not, I’ll try harder next time. (gasp! plz don’t Gary! ok Lynn. I’ll try not to).
(Wow! All that stuff was FUN to type!)

    Thanks again guys!
    Gary.

P.S. Got lot’s more Questions to ask, but I don’t want to slam you guys too much, too fast (especially Lynn), but I also have some cool knowledge that I can contribute to the members that may be even more “Newbie’er” than me, like I did about the Twitter Background page problem that was posted to/at Loretta. Ok, gotta shut-up - shutting-up!

    bye.
