    hi everyone,
i´m new here but wanted to say hello and recommend fotolia.com - it offers paid pics but also daily free ones and even better - if you "like" them on Facebook you get several free and good quality pics every day :-)

    Monja,
Welcome! And thank you so much for the recommendation. I signed up for Fotolia and so far love what they have to offer.

What a great thread. How much are people spending on photos or do you generally just use the free ones?

I pay for stock images, the amount just depends.

Oh, I haven't been in this thread for some time and I see where other resources have recently been added...and the thread is "alive" and well.

So, I'm adding a site: publicdomainpictures that I saw mentioned at another forum where I hang out.

This site does have free photos, and they also have photos starting as low as $1.

    Hi Steve,

    I use Stock xchng www.sxc.hu/

Just type your topic in the search box. The first row of pics are not free but all the others are. Just click on the pic and you can view the image license. Almost all the pics say that you may use the Image:

In digital format on websites, multimedia presentations, broadcast film and video, cell phones.
In printed promotional materials, magazines, newspapers, books, brochures, flyers, CD/DVD covers, etc.
Along with your corporate identity on business cards, letterhead, etc.
To decorate your home, your office or any public place.

    Hope that helps,
