    Default static site or blog

I would appreciate help on which to build. When you plan to build more than one niche site is it best to use static pages or blog? I've got one niche I've reached and have the main keyword for a product and other keywords for 4 or 5 different pages for related products. Is it best to build static sites when these won't be your main niche?

    Thanks for any advice

Jerry, the answer to your question is, it doesn't matter. Why? Because it's a matter of personal preference. I'm sure WordPress lovers will tell you that you're better off with a blog. But the truth of the matter is, it doesn't matter.

As long as your website is well optimized for the search engines, has plenty of quality content and is well designed, it doesn't matter the type of format you use.

I think it is personal preference. Wordpress can be a static site or you can use another web design software. I use XSitePro but there are others out there too. I personally find it easier to use the software over Wordpress but again that is personal preference.

If you're only going to have a handful of pages on the site and then move onto something else, I'd say go with plain old html.

The advantage Wordpress has for site management (and xsitepro like Angie mentioned) is that it makes the site a lot easier to manage if you're adding new content or updating more frequently.

Thank you all for the help I appreciate it. I have one more question I would appreciate help with. I know a lot of marketers have many niche sites that are not their main site. What is the process for building passive static niche sites? I know for a main site you want to build back links write articles and all the other methods to get ranked. With a lot of niche sites I don't understand how one person can do this without the money to outsource the work. So my question is are your keywords and choosing a very targeted niche the process for many niche sites?

Again thank you for any insight you can give

    Hey Jerry,

WordPress is great because there are a lot of free themes to choose from, which makes the design aspect super simple. If you can design good looking sites on your own, go with HTML if you prefer. If design is not your thing, go with WordPress and use free themes. There are A LOT of great themes for free - just do a search on Google and you'll see.

With niche affiliate sites, the marketing is the same no matter what format/platform you choose: unique content, proper optimization, inbound links.

The key is to work on one, get it up and get links, then start on the next one and keep duplicating the process. It's important to go through the whole system of "start to profit" with your first affiliate site before starting another one (and another one, and so on).

So one at a time, and then let's say you have 5 affiliate sites/blogs running by the end of your first year. Your time will then be spent marketing & managing them - getting new links, writing new content, outsourcing things if you prefer, etc.

Thanks Lynn,Frank and Gail for the help. Thanks Lynn for laying that out for me I had so much about putting up 4and 5 at a time I was confused. Since you suggested that I look at something other than web hosting I've been researching and have come up with a couple that look good. Since I put so much time and effort into the other 2 what is a good time limit to give this one before I move on if I don't get results?
Thanks for your help Lynn and maybe soon I won't have to ask so many questions.

    Jerry
