Default Wordpress Post Date and Time?

What's the concensus on posts having a date and time? Should this be left alone or removed? What's the advantage to having this?

    Thanks

I take the view that if it is a site that is not going tobe updated regularly, then I take the date off as it looks bad to have the last post days, months or weeks ago. I particularly do this where I use wordpress as a CMS.

Any site that is regularly updated then I see no harm in having it on, in fact it shows that the site is current.

If the content is time sensitive, the date and time are appropriate. If not, if the content is evergreen (meaning just as current a year from now as it is today) then you can remove the timestamp altogether.

Maybe this is a "Homer" question ( I've been asking lots of those lately) - How? Is it in one of the settings or one of those nasty cody things?

I'm stuck on one of those right now. Ugh!!

    Nasty cody things.

There's a snippet of code in the files for the theme you're using that would need to be removed, to take the date/time stamp off your posts.
