Is Wordpress Direct Necessary

Hi all,

I haven't been on the forum in awhile and believe it or not I miss you guys!
During this past year's 30 Day Challenge I was encouraged to subscribe to WordpressDirect and I did. At this point I don't think the subscription to WPD is necessary as I think I can post to my blog directly on Wordpress. If that is so I should cancel my WPD subscription.

How do you post directly in Wordpress bypassing WPD?

If you sign up at Hostgator, they will bring your blog over for you for free. Use coupon code wordpress to get the $1 special. They have excellent tech support and the free move comes with new accounts only so be sure to sign up for it when you join. Leave me a mesage if you have any questions about it.

I had Hostgator bring ClayFranklin.com over from GoDaddy a couple of months ago and it worked great. You just need the PHP my admin log in for the database retrieval. I did a backup beforehand just in case. I have not used wordpress direct yet have met with others that use it.

I have a checklist for setting up WordPress on your own host/domain here:

You just log in from yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ with the username and password that you chose when you installed it - which is real easy to do from within your hosting cpanel (the installation).
