    Default Podcast/online interview stuff

I am going to start doing some podscast/interviews and I am wonder what to use. I know some of you do this sort of thing. Do you use land line phone or through the computer using Skype? What sort of programs do you use? Audio Acrobat or ***?

Let me know the best way you have found so I don't have to struggle! I'm all about finding the easiest way i can!!!

I have heard that people use "Pamela" for recording skype calls. A few of my interviews were done that way.
    Good luck!
I am going to start soon too! Fun stuff!

Thanks Jen and domlin. I have been reading some very negative things about Skype and quality/reliability issues. I would really like to know if these are true or not!

Steve you'll get mixed messages on this. Kathy Baker and myself did all our interviews ( but 1) using skype and mercifully no probs. The 1 problem was when we used a teleseminar line.

For us skype and pamela are a dream team!

Whatever option you use there will be tech issues!!

    But do it anyway!

Thanks Alex. It seems just in the last day or two I have heard so many horror stories about Skype. I really want the mobility of being able to do my podcasts and interviews online, not having to have "my" phone and be in "my" space. However, if Skype or other voIP systems have more problems than they are worth I guess I'll stick with old but reliable technology.

Steve just use what ever you are comfortable with.

There are horror stories about just about everything but we've not had any skype probs at all but we have had appalling probs with teleseminar services.

Other folks have the reverse experience

    Hey Stephen,

I think I may have sent this to you, but I use Audio Acrobat. Here's how it works.

Skype is unreliable for me, but AA has worked well since I first got my account in 2005. Plus, the overage on my account is super cheap as I've grow and I don't have to deal with learning Amazon's SW3 or whatever it is. They handle everything.

The nice thing is that you're not locked into anything. You can try them all and see which YOU like best.

Yeah! That gives me a warm feeling all over. The only part is getting the right headset. Do I get phone or computer headset??

The computer headset with mic I bought was $25 with free shipping from amazon. I use it for all kinds of things. It's a Logitech.

I just crawl into bed with my puppies and my regular old phone for interviews. No headset.

We use Skype to record the @IMTW Podcast, and of course I use my wireless Plantronics Headset.
