    Exclamation Article Marketing Tip

Article marketing is one of the most effective FREE methods of driving traffic to your website. However, many who attempt article marketing write one or two articles, then give up because they didn't achieve the results that they expected.

They key to article marketing is patience and consistency. Writing one or two articles will only produce negligible results, at best. No, you have to write many articles consistently over time. How many?

Well, for article marketing to have any significant impact, you should try to write at least two articles per week - every week. Commit to that writing schedule for one year, and at the end of that time period, you will have written over 100 articles.

If you do that, eventually, you will see your article marketing efforts begin to pay huge dividends down the road.

Very true. I'm still getting backlinks from articles initially published years ago. It amazes me.

Yep, I equate it to depositing money in the bank. The more you put in, the more interest you earn. Same thing with article marketing: The more articles you write, the greater the returns - provided of course, they're quality articles, published on quality websites.

But that's a topic for another day!

David , GREAT to see you back man!
I'm still new to the article writing but have tried submitting to Ezine and it was rejected (claimed it was duplicate content). Granted it was on the same subject but the article was all original and contained many different ideas that hadn't been written about.
So I got fed up after re-writing and resubmitting three or four times and just gave up!
Maybe someone can give me a few tips on what I can do in this case. My writing skills are decent and I always check grammar, spelling etc.

    Thanks,
    Phil

    Hi Phil:

Perhaps you haven't heard, but EzineArticles is cleaning house. They've really tightened things up over there. The focus is now on quality, as opposed to quantity. Personally, I haven't had any problems getting my articles accepted.

But I'm hearing a thousands and thousands of articles are being rejected, and thousands and thousands of previously approved articles are being deleted.

Rather than me trying to explain it to you, you'd better read about it yourself:

    EzineArticles.com is Cleaning House

Yes, EZA seems to be cracking down on the shorter, less beefy articles many marketers turn out in mass. As long as we send them something with 400+ words of genuinely useful content, I think you're fine. Mine are still being accepted OK.

I've just been doing some self-examination regarding how I want to go with my IM efforts and it's occurred to me that article marketing seems to suit certain people's personalities and work styles more than others. The best article marketers seem to be those who churn out articles fairly mechanically and rapidly assembly line style. On the other hand, a niche blogger is writing to build a strong following, so spending a day or 2 on a single quality entry might be worth the effort. And then there are the e-book writers, who may spend a week or more creating a single high quality writing project. I think we all have to choose the IM writing style that best suits the way we produce work.

BTW, I've done some intensive research in recent weeks to understand what pulls view traffic to an EZA article and concluded that the title is almost entirely responsible (though no guarantee). You absolutely want a good keyphrase and you want it at the beginning of the title. Article quality, reputation and word-of-mouth seem to mean next to nothing with EZA traffic. Top writers with hundreds of postings have view counts ranging from zilch to huge.

As for what it takes to get a click-thru, that's a different thing. Some believe shorter articles are best for that. I think if your content's good enough to get them to the bottom, it's mostly a matter of having a resource link line that is a natural continuation of the article itself. The more focused, the better.
