Hi Yuri,Hope you get answer from my other friends i just want to share my view and experience..If you have a new site then before submitting Site map try to build some good back links toward your site..I experience that if You rely on site map then Google put your site in a queue..That may take some time..But if you create some High quality back links then Google will definitely crawl your site..

More important is that some web 2.0 sites "no follow" links so these links do not add to PageRank but it is still a link and folks can still follow it!

    If you follow me...

Hmmm... so even though Google ignores "nofollow", I see that some sites use it and there are others that also use and recognise its usage, right?

Well, I see this info would be very useful for my next site 'cos Google already crawled, indexed and ranked my site.

Except for the link I posted in this forum on a thread, I haven't done any link strategies yet.

"If you have a new site then before submitting Site map try to build some good back links toward your site." That sounds like a good tip and I'm going to try it out.

    Thanks Harry!

    "even though Google ignores "nofollow"

But Google does not ignore "no follow" - it just leaves them out when it calculates PageRank. google searches and finds everything - even logically when people put "no index" in their code, Google finds that page, crawls it and then dumps it from it's database.

I just shudder to think of Google's carbon footprint - the datacenters it runs are HUGE.

    "do no evil" Haha!

Yeah one of those things that anyone should do, logically.

Alex: aha, thanks for clearing up that.

Yes, to get indexed faster...submit the the SEs, set up a site map AND get some links from a FEW places like Digg, a really good article site and/or StumbleUpon. Don't get too link crazy until you've been indexed but you need to give them that push to get indexed faster.

Getting indexed should not be a "problem", getting onto page one of the search engines is your problem.

Before you start make sure that each page or post has a unique and appropriate title and meta description and that your site has a site map.

The very first thing to do is to use a small number of social bookmarking sites - like digg or Stumblupon.

Then start link building with articles, press releases and directory submissions.

I start with on-page optimization through the use of keywords in the title and meta descriptions as well as proper renaming of images. Search engines can only read text which means that images that don't have proper renaming might not be too helpful for a website.
