I am trying to find a decent theme/template for my author sites, but can't seem to find anything appropriate. I would get someone to create them for me if I had the cash to do it. But while I'm waiting for those ships to finally dock for me, I need to find something free or inexpensive.
I'm especially having trouble finding one for my romance author site.
I did find an interesting site: Elegant Themes where for $20 a year you get to download whatever themes he has, and whatever he comes out with during the year. Has anyone ever used this service?
I will probably go ahead and join, as $20 is a small price to pay for such a variety. I have other sites I want to turn into blogs, so while there may not be the complete selection I need, there are some great ones to choose from.
Anyway, I'd appreciate getting some leads about sites people have gotten good stuff from.
Well, just at the moment, I'm using a theme with a purple background, kind of lilac in color, with purple roses for my Romance author site, NovelsByNeenah.com. Most of the romance themes are geared for the dating sites or wedding sites. Which is fine, if I knew how to customize the things. I saw a template for an eBook site, but I can't remember where it was. Just at the moment, my work is in eBook format. I know there are people out there who build sites for authors, but I don't have the means to pay a lot for one. Maybe after tax season . . .
My romances would be considered sweet. No steamy love scenes, and the first has been called a sweeping family saga. Which is correct, I guess, as I plan to make a series out of it.
For kids, I've done a photo picture book for toddlers, stories for 8 - 12 year olds, and Young Adult. I'd like a light, bright site for the kids stuff. I saw one on the Elegant Themes site that would work for now, but I do need to learn how to customize them. If anyone can point me in the direction of a tute for that, I'd so much appreciate that. I've no idea how to input logos or images and such.
I think it shows up if you were to go there, but it's so new, there's nothing on it yet . . . . My publishing site, I don't think I plan to make into a blog. I also have a new site I've called DiaryofaRogueDiabetic.com, where I plan to confess publicly the error of my ways as far as sugar struggles go . . . I'm thinking of looking for guides on Clickbank to promote, making one of my own, and then tying weight loss and health and beauty in with it, as they can all complement each other. I could probably find things to offer in all those areas. Haven't found anything to use for a theme for that, but there are some nice ones at ET even if they aren't exactly what I'm looking for for this either. Haven't done anything as far as working up a logo for it, either. Just got the domain name last week, and I'm still in the early stages . . . although my husband wants me to have had it up last year . . .
