Question What do you use for FTP?

I am still using an FTP client I started using back in the 90's, then called Windows Commander, now called Total Commander. I need to know what everyone else is using & recommending so that I can create a simple FTP tutorial (unless someone wants to offer ).

What FTP client are you using?

I'm glad you are doing a tutorial Lynn - this is a big problem for Newbies and it took me ages to learn how to do something I now do in a couple of seconds!

Filezilla is the first ftp that worked for me and is what I use now.

I use FileZilla as well. The price is right (free) and I find it pretty easy to use.

I've been using CyberDuck for Mac. Works great, but has the One Window at a time kind of UI. I'm actually looking to get a "Paid" ftp program coz I'm afraid "CyberDuck" is going to spoil me and keep me stupid (FTP-stupid that is) because it is so easy, one could easily overthink it.

However, I'm still not yet comfortable with the technology now that I have more than just 2 or 3 blogs/sites I'm trying to maintain.

Lynn, You use Macs don't you?

I also use Cyberduck for Mac. I've tried a bunch, but keep coming back to the duck. It works great and it's free.

Yes, "The Quiet One" hawking in for FireFTP :P. It is a Firefox add on and it works beautifully for me.

I've used several FTP clients over the years, from paid (WS_FTP Pro) to other free clients (Smart FTP) and really like FireFTP.

That said, Filezilla is another popular FTP program and if I had to make another recommendation, that would be it.

Funny you ask because until just recently thanks to Traci and some other fine friends I learned what FTP was LOL I don't currently use one, Kev and I just do it all via Host Gator and XSitePro does it automatically. I'm not even sure how to explain it all to him so I'll look forward to a tutorial
