I want to know how you get it all done. I know I'm new to this game. But so many of you have so much more going then me, (I think Lynn Terry must be cloned!) I want to hear from you how you keep all the areas in your lives going. How do you feel you get anything accomplished?
I have 2 blogs that I am writing for. Then I'm trying to write an ebook. Twitter, facebook. Hubby and I spend every weekend going over materials learning the techie side of things. And that is just the business side of things.
Then there is laundry, dishes, meals. Those are the bare necessities too. Believe me this house is not sparkling clean, far from it.
I feel like I'm drowning and I thought it would be getting easier but so far not seeing any evidence of that.
You know I tend to think the same thing every day. I just do it one step at a time and make sure to focus on that one thing. Not an easy task.
I'm sure others will comment and say that they outsource a LOT of their daily tasks to a virtual assistant, affiliate manager, housekeeper, etc. So it might be something for you and the hubby to consider
I keep it all in a spreadsheet, all the tasks that I need to do for every website and check them off as i do them. Otherwise you just get paralyzed and cant remember what to do next, at least that happens to me. The list keeps me focused so I know what I have to do next.
Just like caneman, I keep a master "To-Do" list which gets everything added to it, and then break down into my 3-tasks a day challenge - I have to complete 3 things on my list that will move my online business forwards.
Some things I have outsourced before, but for this I want to be clear first hand at what needs to be done for each stage - it means I'll have a better idea of what I should expect from someone when I eventually outsource.
As has been said before...
Just focus on one thing at a time - even if your master list seems to be growing at a far quicker rate. You may well find times when you can spend great chunks of time, so you can catch up some then.
And don't forget to celebrate EACH time you cross a task off as completed!
I even go through phases of getting up at 5am to get an hour in before my little boy wakes up and the usual day starts.
Thanks everybody. Had a melt down there, went and wrote a couple of blogs, posted a couple of articles and even got to work on my ebook a little. Guess I should melt down more often. LOL
I appreciate everyones comments and I'm liking the master list idea!
Nah, just a to-do list to keep you moving from one task to the next smoothly without fumbling with what you have to do next. I've also find it helps if you can devote as much time (a whole day even) to one particular task instead of trying to do a little bit of each every day. That way you don't waste time switching from one thing to the next (for example, how much time does it take you to log into each blog? How about to open your file with your ebook? If you can post a week's worth of posts on Monday, you have more time the rest of the week to focus to other areas).
