    Default Wordpress Themes

Hello! I am new here! I am working on my Wordpress blog to help market my Etsy site. I am having a hard time finding a theme that I thought was appropriate so I thought I'd pick a theme that I could customize. I the current them I have has all kinds of options on it...that I don't understand. Does anyone recommend a good theme for customizing? Right now my site looks so stale and blah and not TerreMum-ish at all! Thanks!

    Hi Jennie,

Have you checked out the cool themes from Brian Gardner? http://www.briangardner.com/themes

Currently a designer is customizing the Education theme for my site- www.raisingsmallsouls.com.

    I hope that helps!

I really like Atahualpa for its super easy customization. http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/atahualpa

I'm not a designer, so I use the trial and error method: Change a color, refresh the site, look at the results. Change a font, refresh the site, look at the results, change it back. Painfully slow, yes, but fun. The great thing about Atahualpa is you never need to touch the CSS. All the options are laid out for you.

And those owl ipod cases are adorable! Is there a blackberry sized one?

I too use Brian Gardner's themes, but from studiopress.com. I find them easy to manipulate through CSS and they give lots of support. On top of that, The WordPress Chick is super into their themes and provides tutorials and advice.

But keep in mind that many people on this forum are very happy with their free themes and don't think you need to pay for them. So keep that option in mind too. You will get lots of free theme suggestions here too. Good luck!

Cindy~ Thank you for replying! I'm going to check into that theme. Can you change the image in the header? Also, I did not make the iPod case! That was from a different Etsy seller, but you can click on the picture and it will take you to her shop! A lot of people make those type of cases on Etsy so maybe you can find one for your Blackberry!

    Default Wordpress Themes

I thought I might actually be "Wordpress challenged" as I could never seem to make themes look the way I wanted.

I'm still no pro, but I also find Woo themes to be about the easiest so far.

    The widgets are your friend!

    Good luck.

What is your site about? Maybe we could search for a free related theme for your blog/site.

I too like the WooThemes. There are quite a few themes out there now that are really easy to change. Flexibility 2 and Freshy 2 are also easy to change - and both are free.

    Hi

You might want to look at this theme, it has a ton of options and is set out very easily to customize for your requirements.

    Hope this helps.
