Hey, I just wanted to know why one of my articles on my website: Dirt Bike Trails is not getting ranked well. I have over 50 incoming links so far, which is more than most of the top 5. Is there anything I can do to better SEO this page? Thanks

Tom,
My first initial thought was you have one paragraph that really has to do with dirt bike trails but then it goes on to dirt bike gear. It was a great review though. I saw that you had the phrase once or twice but I think it would need to be in there a little more.
Here is a great post by Lynn on web page optimization that you might find really useful.
Thanks Angie. Yeah, I see your point. I did use the key words "dirt bike," and "trails" more than a couple times though. I guess I'll have to change something about it.
Tom,
Not sure if you know but dirt bike trails used exactly as is, is a pretty good keyword phrase so if you stick with that exact phrase throughout the content that is a good start. Dirt bike gear (another great phrase as is) could be used too maybe in that post instead of dirt bike trails. Just some thoughts.
Hi Tom,
Could patience be the answer? It does take the SE's a bit of time to update their links- are most of your links quite new?
I skimmed the article (nice looking work, btw), and noticed a couple of things that might be affecting this:
'dirt bike trails' is not the same as 'dirt bike trail'. I'm not sure, but I think 'dirt bike on trails' is a different kw phrase as well.
I only saw the exact kw phrase 'dirt bike trails' twice in the article - once in the title and once in the first paragraph. Those are prime spots, but maybe adding a couple of more times, getting some back links where that is the anchor text pointing to this specific page, doing a guest blog or an article (or both!) on 'dirt bike trails' with resource box pointing to this page?
'trail' or 'bike trail' or 'dirt bike' is not as directed / long tailed as 'dirt bike trail'. Much more general terms. Those terms are used quite a lot in the article.
Yes, Tom that is what I was trying to explain above that the phrase you find though the keyword research tool has to be used as is no deviation from it at all. Sorry I didn't explain better.
You'll use that in your title, in your content and to link back to that specific blog post through articles (your bio, etc.).
