Default How Do I Move My Blog to a Different Platform?

    Hi everyone,

I'm happy to report I've started a blog http://www.elderlyfraudrecoveryhelp.posterous.com and have been consistently blogging about 3 times a week for six weeks or so. The problem is, I'm using a platform called posterous, which doesn't allow email opt-in forms and some other necessary steps for growing my business. I want to move my blog over to Wordpress, since that has all the cool plug-ins I need. Has anyone else moved a blog like this? Do I just start over at Wordpress? I'd really appreciate any guidance since this is getting in the way of my next steps.

    Thanks,

    Art

Hi Art, I'm not familiar with Posterous, and also do not see it listed among other platforms that WordPress will easily import.

I did find this thread on the support forum at WordPress.org and it looks like someone is working on an importer for this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/340506

So keep an eye on that thread and/or contact the person working on this to get an update.

    Default Thanks for your help

    Traci,

Thanks for your help with this! I'm encouraged to find someone is already working on an importer for Wordpress. This may simplify things a ton for me. I'm going to stay on top of this!

    Again, many thanks!

    Hey Art,

I answered this question (too) on your thread about Duplicate Content. Check that out and let me know if it raises any questions.

    Hi Donald,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Thankfully I've solved this problem, mostly with the help I've received from this forum. People here are very helpful, and I look forward to returning the favors as I learn more.

    Good luck in your ventures,

    Art
